Strategies stopped due to rejected orders – lack of info

it is frustrating not knowing if this is just the DEMO account or it will happen the same on the REAL account.
All the reports so far seem to be on demo and not real live accounts. We all know that IG do not give much priority to demo. We all also know that this is a major mistake by them because we all use the demo platform to build our confidence and our trading skills. There is a direct correlation between our ability to be good at trading along with our confidence in the platform and the the amount of trading we are then willing to go live with. Every time that a demo strategy is stopped due to IG rejecting orders it is a direct hit on IG’s own bottom line but it seems that they have not given this any priority. I personally had 21 reasons not to go live today and dozens more reasons on top of that over the last few weeks.

I imagine that with these sort of issues there is very little that PRT can do. They simply send our demo orders to IG and IG reject them and our systems all stop. PRT will be reading this (we hope) and probably as annoyed about what is happening as we all are. I imagine PRT don’t reply to this thread as nothing they can say on here will help the situation. Someone at PRT we hope will be communicating with IG directly about all these stopped demo strategies but maybe they just get the same ‘demo is low priority for IG’ reply that we do!
Obviously all of the above is just guess work as we can only work with the evidence that we have – which is that PRT send demo orders, the orders are rejected by IG, PRT simulate in demo what would happen in a live strategy if you sent 11 orders and they were all rejected by IG. We wake up on a Monday morning and have to restart 21 strategies and decide that this week is not the week to go live with any of them as the risk is too high and our forward testing results are all messed up to the point where analysing them is worthless.

My demo bots have also been stopping and rejecting orders all day.
My live bots have been working fine.
So it does seem to be a demo only problem (although I don’t have all demo bots running in live, only some).
On the whole I find the live system to be way, way more reliable than demo. Not perfect, but usable in my opinion, with issues being quite rare.
You just have to make sure you monitor everything closely and nip any problems in the bud straight away.

Just a few seconds ago all my struggling algos from yesterday terminated and the trading report was updated correctly on the DEMO account.
Looks like DEMO environment had a huge backlog of data / processes to handle these days.
Now let’s keep fingers crossed that we will have a smooth trading day on DEMO today.
