    @reiner

Woah, that is realy sad to hear. The forum just lost alot of knowledge.

Is i because the system isn’t running as it should (we know it works, so it shouldn’t be that) or because other stuff?

You have been a massive part of this community and given a huge amount of your time. Good speaking to you over the last year or so. Good luck in the future, I’m sure you wont need it! 🙂

Very sorry to hear Reiner. Your generosity has been fantastic in this ego world and I’ve learned a lot since my skill in this is far from yours and many others here. I’m going to miss your knowledge, your professional tone and your patience answering my newbie questions. And also the chance to be a small part in the development of your great work.  Will it be possible to stay in contact with you in some way outside this forum? All the best and I hope someone will persuade you to stay with us:)

    Best regards

    Martin

Mmm I feel like someobody in the family just died!? Maybe there is a lesson to be learned here?

Reiner is so gifted at coding and discovering new strategies and soooo kind sharing with us all! It is likely we overloaded him with questions … can this or that be tried in the code / strategy, can you help on this, performance is not looking too good, what can be done, are the next Systems ready etc etc. We’re all guilty of a bit or a lot so no need to go on a ‘witch hunt’.

Then of course Reiner had to express himself / answer not in his native language and so that added even more time for him and pressure / stress.

Maybe we should / need to accept what Reiner (and other accomplished coders) are kind enough to make public and let them get on as best they think fit and not burden them with our questions / discussions?

Maybe there is a place for discussions / comments / questions being on a separate Thread to that on which ‘Beta System Code’ appears? No direct questions asked of code Authors on ‘Beta Code provided Threads’.

Code Authors would be free join in discussions (on ‘Discussion only Threads’) as they see fit, but they do not have to feel any obligation to answer questions because questions would not be directed directly at them??

Above are just a few thoughts on this sad day, just me thinking aloud, might spark off a new idea somehow? I’m sure Nicolas will have thoughts on a different Thread structure if indeed he thinks there is a need.

Thank You So Much Reiner, I hope we all ‘see you around’ on here from time to time

Reiner – very sad to hear that you will be leaving but I wish you all the best for the future.

Your contribution here has been massive and you have helped make this a better and more engaging forum. I hope that your decision has not been influenced by anyone/anything on here and the fact that you get asked a lot of questions. I can understand it’s quite time consuming to answer everyone but you have still done that which shows a lot about your character. If you wish to return at some point in the future, I am sure you will be welcomed with open arms.

Even if you wish to contribute your ideas now and again on this site and leave others on here to develop without necessarily being “on call” to answer queries, then that I am sure would be equally appreciated. You certainly don’t owe anyone anything and the fact you have selflessly worked to help others here for so long is amazing.

I wish you the best of luck and trading success in your future projects.

    Hello guys,
I agree with GraHal. Reiner has been very generous and our (my) questions represent an additional burden for those who have the kindness to share their knowledge to improve the quality of the discussions. This burden and responsibility is a real brake for those who wish to make public their ideas of strategies. No one should feel obliged to follow-up after publication. Reiner wanted to make public the follow-up of the performance of his strategy and we are very grateful to him. He now has the freedom to stop and we must now be happy with the path traveled.

Thank you Reiner for your altruism and your communicative intellectual curiosity!

A big thank you to you Reiner. You who understood the meaning I have always wanted to give to this site: a good team spirit and knowledge sharing in this vast world of trading. I hope that the reasons behind you have nothing to do with the recent discussions, I know that some people can sometimes be ungrateful or haughty and this is a well-known and recurring problem in discussion forums, although Unfortunately.

I have always been amazed at how much you have always been patient with all requests received on the forum, and even more patient than me! unbelievable! I would have liked to help you more in your projects, but I have always put it off to the next day, already having a lot to do and I regret it today.

This is bad news for the community, but it will have to go through it and get over it, so things go on in life 🙂

I imagine that today the most devoted members will have to take over to avoid letting these beautiful projects fall into oblivion. They will also be able to count on me of course.

I wish you all the best Reiner, I hope you will always find as much fun in trading in the years to come.

Do not hesitate to come back when you want! For the pleasure of all 🙂

    Hi Zilliq,

I understand your reasoning. Pyramid a position AFTER the trailing stop is probably better BUT :
1/ Averaging the loosing positions even in the favorable context of the pathfinder and in respecting the stops of this strategy, do you think it’s so bad ? The stop of this strategy limits the risk.
2/ To alleviate the risk when it becomes high, we can lighten the strongly losing first level by taking advantage of a punctual retracement. When the last level become positive du to a retracement, we can close this trade and use this little gain to redeem a part of the first position of the pyramid. We have thus reduced the risk. When the retracement ends and the fall continues, we will open again a buy position at the same level as the previous one, etc.
We let the strategy manage its position but we help it when the market moves in the wrong direction within the limits of its original stops.

In summary, in the context of a strategy with a high probability of gain, you pyramids after the trailing stop and you try to protect your gain against a retracement, and me, i averages the loosing positions to take advantage of a retracement to lighten my risk.

    What do you think ?

    Hi Nicolas,

I work as an IT manager and have to coordinate many critical projects and many resources for my company.
No one or anything has disturbed me. The only reason I stopped is that I unfortunately don’t have enough time.

I’m also very sorry that I can not continue so actively because it was a lot of fun for me.
I will keep watching your forum and will certainly join again. But at the moment I need a break.

I wish you all the best and thank you for your support

    Best regards
    Reiner
