Pathfinder swing TS

In this topic I’d like to publish all Pathfinder swing trading algorithms. The swing trading robots based on the Pathfinder daily code and are adapted to the monthly saisonality introduced with the original Pathfinder Trading System. Each month was separated in two parts (day 1 – 15 and 16 – 31) and the saisonal behavior was determined. The idea is to check twice a month for which instruments Pathfinder swing TS find a promising setup based on historical tests. Pathfinder swing robots running in demo account will deliver the trade signal or can trade automaticly in life account as well. Please find attached the Pathfinder swing roadmap for almost 30 instruments. I will attach the robots for the most promising setups on this post for the current/next period. Pathfinder strategies offer a statistical advantage but are of course not a holy grail and there is no guarantee to make money with it. The systems are optimized for historical data and historical gains are not a garantee to be successful in the future. I strictly recommend to adjust the position sizes to your personal account size and try first in demo mode. The results in life trading will differ from the backtest results. I also recommend to start in life trading with a small account size. Anyone can use the programs for free and at their own risk. Pathfinder swing is my privat and fully transparent algorithmic trading project exclusively implemented for ProRealTime 10.2. I think we already have all the robots for the next period. Wheat is still open but unfortunately we haven’t a good data history for this instrument.

Hi AleX,

I use this idea for one of my ETF accounts and for me it works very well. In my expierence you get more or less the same or even better entry prices because the trades are usually “under water” at the beginning. I’m trading not every instrument only the top indices and all commodities and the results a very good so far.

You can also trade the algos with IG automaticly. Patrick has compiled a list of all instruments with spreads and trading times. I think only some commodities such as coffee are not available at 1 am. One issue of course is the high spread for the most of the Instruments at 1 am such as your MIB index (50 points). On the other side almost all trades were profitable despite the high spreads.

I’m going to migrate the algos to a lower timeframe e.g. 4H in the near future.

I closed “Hochwertiges Kupfer” and “Südafrika 40 Kassa” manually (just to reduce the many open positions).
Nice profits are pouring in, I hope u guys enjoy the ride!

Yes, I am trading most of PF live. Drawdown wasnt so bad so far, so I let all the programs enabled.

@Mark: How did configure, that the open positions tab, shows your Win/Loss in your currency (Pounds), and not in the instruments currency. For me it shows A$, HK and ZAR . Makes it hard to read.

I didn’t do anything, that is in demo mode (maybe that makes a difference) also in England we use DFB (Daily funded bet) which is tax free, maybe IG converts it automatically. I will add that in PRT it does show as different currencies, but on my IG account it is all converted.

Hi Reiner!

Trying to find the best way to trade the Pathfinder swing. Interested how you think about it. What ETF:s do you trade? How do you think about currencies when choosing? Do you trade only instruments traded in euro? How do you set your risk parameters? Do you use leverage instruments? I suppose that we all have different possibilities regarding where we live and what broker we use but anyhow nice to get some input:)
