I think “against each other” is the main principle of a contest 🙂 and it would be more fun I think!

I support the idea of coding contests and want to throw a few ideas into the mix. The goal is to enhance the community experience. Exciting events like competitions support forum and library activity. Also, new members will be drawn to the site for a more diversified insight into trading. This will profit us all and every contestant gains coding experience. Learning and new coding ideas are open to see in the code.

In order to build the best competition system, we can draw insights from experimental economics and game theory to create compelling contests. We can run down the typical determinants of game design.

A well thought out competition system will be an enrichment to the site. Who else is in for some action?

It’s a brilliant idea Nicolas, I hope many of us join the contest to enrich the community and improve personal knowledge.

So that everyone can participate in the same way and to have an easier basis for the future deliberation of the winner, it is necessary to impose a subject.
For this first contest, I thought I would propose:

_ Creation of a screener for the detection of opportunity to BUY only, based on the momentum of the market, for stocks, in intraday timeframe.

Based on the ‘best’ and more ‘efficient’, visitors of the website will give their votes in order to determine the winner of the contest.

Regarding the reward, I still have to check 2 or 3 things.

** PLEASE WAIT before I launched officially the contest, thank you.

    Hi

A great features of posted strategies library would be to have a  live demo performance and filters on statistics.

There are so many strategies posted and it is difficult to identify good ones in all posted stategies without performance filter.

    Well, hi. Yannick. Great idea.

Maybe we should create a public demo account, which is streamed live and integrates all strategies? Or because of me, several live streams depending on the index (cac, dax, dow, etc.)? Or as far as I’m concerned, every strategy in its own livestream, all gathered on a web page with sorting, with the most wins above and then descending….. Who can do this? Who can afford this? Hi John,  according to the manual all the things you suggest appear to exist already.  Have no knowledge of it myself as I only came across this while browsing the full software manual the other day.

See the section titled ‘ProCommunity’: https://www.prorealtime.com/en/help-manual/quick-tour > Full Printable Manual

ProCommunity is only available through PRT software and for a limited kind of securities only.

An other idea would be to indicate the town of the user in the forum.

It would be an opportunity to meet people from the same town/region.

Website update! Official support forums, votes and best answer.

Since yesterday, all the first sections of the forums and for all the different languages are exclusively dedicated to platform support. These forums will also be moderated by the ProRealTime teams.
In order to make each topic of these forums listed as important problem-solving topics that can be useful for the rest of the community and thus serve as a knowledge base, it is possible for everyone to vote in these new support topics. for the most relevant posts through the voting system (vote up / vote down). The post with the highest score will be judged as the most relevant post and put forward (first) in the thread (see attached image).
List of official support forums in each language:

Each topics can be mark as resolved or not by the author of the topic itself or by a moderator of the website.

    Website update! Attachments list

Some people asked me this feature, very useful for big topics with many files and codes updates. A new button at top of each topic page lead to a popup with the full list of all attachments contained in the topic, sorted by most recent to older ones (see attached images).

Please let me know if you found any bug or if you want to add feature to this new functionality.

Regarding the coding contest I would propose to have a more interactive communication channel to discuss / elaborate and share code snippets – trading strategies live (= real-time).

With my clients and developers I very often use SLACK – a great tool.
