I wanted to propose social tagging as a feature again. It will be a great help for the community to organize the knowledge of prorealcode.

Here is a slideshare that shows the idea.

Just now I wanted to link to Noobywan’s excellent explanations about correct indicator usage for PRT in another thread. So maybe, the community likes the idea as well?

Thanks Derek, about social tags, it is a feature that exist already in the Library as you know. It also exists for forums’ topics but I disabled it to not overload it for rookie forums users 🙂 But it is a good idea and now the forums have a lot of information available, but sometimes quite difficult to retrieve them .. I will consider your idea and give more news once I come back for good.

Sorry, I must be blind: How can I add a tag to a library post from another user?

    #44611

Oh I’m sorry you can’t as you are not the author of the post. I now perfectly understand what you are requesting, I may consider it but should be a lot of extra works from what I’m actually working on.. 🙂 but it is still a good idea, thanks for proposal.

We might need a FAQ section, with perhaps a few “hyper-FAQ” at the top? I have to admit my own desire to answer some questions we’ve seen a hundred times is falling fast and crawling towards questions we’ve seen “only a few times” too by anticipation of them becoming faq’s too, and I assume I might not be the only one… Maybe if there was a numbered list of faq’s, anybody seeing one asked, for example number 12 on the list, could just reply “Hi, see FAQ 12”. Could be built one by one as we go along?

More importantly, plenty might find their own answer in the FAQ section before even asking… Ok there’s the search function on the site, but I don’t have the feeling many beginners are aware of it… And yes more than 7000 PRC members is a great success, but with more than 500 000 PRT customers in the world, one could argue the potential with those who will join next is huge to asnwer many many times the same questions again, or to re-explain some of the most common programming mistakes are not a platform bug (like “time” keyword confusion between time of candle close and what time it is, or using “drawsomething” in a screener, or using “buy” in a probuilder indicator, or using the free platform version and not being aware screener results have a forced 24h delay vs the paying version, etc…)

    AVT

I did never work with wordpress but due to the url it should be possible to change icons, so against all those who mix text and code I suggest changing the “insert PRT code” icon. Responsible for that icon seems to be the following css page

    https://www.prorealcode.com/wp-content/plugins/crayon-syntax-highlighter_NST/css/min/A.crayon.min.css.pagespeed.cf.RwyuPNEOxZ.css

with its code for .mce-i-crayon_tinymce, .mce_crayon_tinymce {} referring to ……/css/images/crayon_tinymce.png

Two suggestions attached, one with the original 20×40 which seems to have a color change function (?) and one 20×20.

Thanks AVT, good idea! I will change it in September.

I think it would be nice if there was a private message function for the forum.

We discussed this ideas somwhere information another thread,  I don’t want it. I largely prefer public and open discussion where everyone can pick ideas, learn,  improve and share again like a continuous loop 🙂

It appears the search bar has gone lost.

    Observed with Chrome on Desktop.

Edit: Found it on the homepage. Was looking for it in the navbar,

The search bar is now located in the dropdown menu below your avatar when connected.

    UPDATE:
You now get 20 points (instead of 5 before), when you share one of your codes (indicators, screeners or trading strategy) in the library.. come on, don’t be shy, show us your codes! 😆

How to share my prorealtime code in this website?

    #48920

    UPDATE:

You also get 2 points for referring a visitor to prorealcode, the only thing to do is to share a link built like in the example below in your favorite social network and/or trading forums:

Example if your profile name is “John Doe”  : https://www.prorealcode.com/?mref=john+doe

Example if I would refer ProRealCode on another website myself (Nicolas) : https://www.prorealcode.com/?mref=nicolas

If your referred visitor signup to ProRealCode, you’ll get an additional 10 points to your profile! Who would like to become a “Master Member” of our beautiful community? 🙂

It’s great to see that activity and networking is encouraged!

This get’s me an idea: Can we have the users submit strategies to compete with each other? We can have cool competitions with prices and many things to learn!

I’m thinking about a “coding contest” with a small price for the best contributor.. Ideas are welcome! 🙂
