    Look at the upper band of the Donchain channel to see the highs on each chart 3,823.12 vs 3,821.88 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The range bars chart needs to be fixed

    To the right a range bars chart 2 points for the US500 index, to the lift same index on 377 ticks chart, look at the low on the lift at the Donchain channel 3,808.13 and look at low on the right 3,813.

    It was a fast move and the range bars couldn’t catch it. If you look at the range bars chart its showing new low while in the ticks chart still not making new lows.

    Its very clear that you have a problem with the range bars.

    Who are you referring to as ‘you’? These forums are independent from PRT and not run by them. PRT do monitor the platform support forum and that is the correct place to post any questions regarding platform features that you think are not working correctly. You should start a new topic there and not just add your questions onto an old topic that just happens to be discussing range bars.

    Also your first action should always be to send a technical report via your platform.

    that is a copy from an email sent to PRT and no action is been taken, it’s very clear that Range bars in PRT is wrong and needs to be fixed!!, also it seems that they can’t fix it.

    this is  a paid software its not a free one and people might lose money due to this wrong chart!!.

    it is better to check the charts and compare it with other platforms to learn how to do range bars charts rather than arguing!!! look at the attachment and tell me do you call this range bars chart???

    efahmy – no one is arguing. They are advising you of the best way to report an issue. Adding on to a very old topic in the wrong forum is not it. Sending an email is not it either. Sending a technical report via your platform is the normal first step. Referring to a topic in the platform support forum at ProRealCode forums in your technical report can often help.

    If you want to get the range bars the most accurate with any other chart type, use the 1-tick timeframe, I get no difference at all between Donchian channel this way.

    Even I don’t understand why range bars are linked to a time frame??!!, I have seen range bars charts in different platforms and never linked to time frame.

    Nic,

    please look at the attachment and notice pivot points difference for the same instrument?!!!

    and look at the number of ticks and period, whenever you increase the range points the number of ticks has to increase!!!

    Also, you will see that the horizontal support and resistance levels are not working???!!

    Plus you cant automate range charts??!!

    If you history is just 1 day, you can’t get the pivot points to be calculated correctly, since it uses previous day OHLC to calculate.

    It is not possible to do automatic trading with range bars.
