PRT Backtest results

Hi all, I have noticed a change in the backtest results of a few of my systems. Is anything wrong with PRT backtest results that anyone know of? Thanks

Hi. The problem now spilled over into my live account as well. I figured out how they calculate the DD% that is incorrect. The report takes the Max DD number and divides it by the Initial capital. Nicholas have you managed to talk to anyone about it. I keep on sending IG complaints about it, but all the do is ask for my code. I keep on telling them the code is not the issue.

Hi David. Sorry to bother you with a completely different question, but it seems like you might have the answer as you also do test on your IG demo account.

I’m trying to do a backtest of some code. it works perfect in both demo and live account, but when it comes to a live test I have no possibility to “Prepare for automatic trading” in the demo account. Is this something you have experienced or know a workaround for?

I have tried to talk to IG support but they just say that it’s not possible to trade with prorealtime in a demo account after 30 days(?) they suggested that I opened a new demo account- but that didn’t solve anything.

Hi Kasper. I don’t have that same issue. I can run my ‘live test’ in demo to test my executions – granter the demo account might not always be aligned to live 100%, but it is good enough. The call centre agents of IG is useless so I never take there word and escalate as much as i can. Sorry i dont have more. Have you tried the account settings in the demo account? Activate ProOrder Trading in demo. Its a check-box.

Hi David, Yes the checkbox on demo is checked, and I am able to run PRT in the DEMO. Just not the function to “Prepare for automatic trading”- it is simply missing. Anyway your answer is much appreciated. Now I know it is possible 🙂

so just to confirm, on your live account side this setting is the same – look at screenshot.

if it is then i remember at one stage when mine was set to Enable i could not use the automatic trading either. IG told me that my account has not been upgraded yet…whatever that meant. For a while I then built my strats in cALGO and MT4 until my IG account got upgraded.

Yes My setting is the same on the Live account, and I am able to use ProOrder there. But the settings in the Demo does not have this option(see screenshot). Perhaps it need an upgrade. I will continue to escalate the support ticket
