Did your proorder come online again? All my live strategies stopped and open positions were closed a few hours ago. Now I can login to PRT again and have charting and so on but proorder is still down.

    …now it came online again!

@wp01, I have been running several different sector algos in demo during the summer with good results and now I am live with some. At the moment Health, Live Cattle and Tech are running.

Yes, the drawdown is horrible, so one needs quite a lot of capital.

My stop for corn lost me about 200 € more than the stop…maybe because it went down so fast.

    David,

Do you for those three sectors an monthly optimization or do you use the yearly as they were posted?

    Thanks.

Yes Oskar, commodities can be a bumpy ride. Down about 4% in hour like it is nothing.

I can assure you that almost all commodities have these kind of days up and down. Nice if you are in the right direction. Not so nice if you

    are in the opposite direction.

My stop/losses are at 343,3 and 343,7. I’m still in the race, so what happened with yours?

At 18.00 hours there was a gap down. If your stop was in that gap than the position will be executed somewhere in the first available price plus the

slippage. I guess this wasn’t a guaranteed stop loss.

wp01: Since I had 2 positions with my low capital I changed the stop loss. No, not guaranteed. Oh well, I’m learning the hard way how this works 😉 with positions less risky I won’t change the stops ofc.

Another newbie question: What happens with the positions for example PA -sept 17 if it continues after august? Will they close?

When the september future expires on august 30th it will be rolledover by IG according to attached information.

You have to check the rollover option in your account. The picture is in Dutch, but you’ll probably understand where to find it.

wp01: Was thinking about using PA like I wrote…better to wait for the new future, or let it roll over? Or when does the new appear?

    Oskar,

Your PA shows good results. The new future will in most cases added one or two days before expiring the old future.

When you are in position at moment of expiration, the position will be rolled over to the next period. Unfortunately the code is not working anymore and will be

stopped in ProOrder. The new position is only rolledover in IG and not in PRT. A new future will also give different BT/DD and results in PRT.

    You have a few options:

When there is no position triggered at august 30th. i suggest you cancel it in ProOrder.

When you are in position at August 30th. and you are in a profit you can take your profit and run. When the position shows a loss, you can roll it over and try to make

something out of it. You have to close it manualy either way, because it is not supported by a code anymore. When you roll over, you have to check the stoploss and takeprofit

in the IG software because prices are not the same with a new future.

wp01: Ok thanks. Really appreciate your advice:) Will run a few systems with max 2 contracts for aug2 (starting on 1 on each), only ones with backtest dd of max 500ish EU. Last month very few positions has been taken, but I won’t risk running more anyway since they could all do it suddenly 😉
