The meaning of your comunication is the responce it elicits so might be my fault if i believe that statement I supose it depends on the interpreter of the statement just as much so I’ll step up and appologise for you. Im sorry you interpreted my statement in such a way it offended you, it wasn’t meant that way at all. if you want to go away in a cream puff its entirely up to you, no skin of my nose. If you want to stay and be a man about it thats also fine with me!

For anyone reading these comments without looking back from the first post. this topic wasnt designed for arguments between people who use indicators and people who dont use them just for clarification. I asked would it be ok to start the topic and the guys said its fine. In the process of doing it in the first place I knew i would come accross people from both sides of the coin so it doesn’t suprise me people get there back up. Its the same when anyone holds a strong belief they will defend it with everything they have. Im all for ‘whatever works’ for the individual person. if it works it works at the end of the day. Personally I like a clean chart because its clearer for me personaly. Show me a set of indicators that can get better results than i’m getting and my belief might change, until then my belief stays the same.

    hey nobody.

you sound like a fresh born genius. even if it took you few decades, I congratulate you. common indicators are like drugs, invented and sold by brokers and boker’s agents to public thursty for “easy money”. it might take long time to get rid off them, and many never manage it. I am sure many will agree. and sure we all wish you good luck with what ever you discovered. just please don’t tell such nasty things like “I will never return”. was it not you few moments ago telling “Take the pesky emotions away”? (ok, it was in different context but still…) so please stay cool and maybe you want to explain more precisely what you mean in your post, because it tells kind of very little/close to nothing or is highly abstract at very least, but you get immediatelly pissed off by shug telling he is convinced HE does not need indicators. he is not telling his way is the only way to make money in the markets. did he investigate on all indicators? I am sure he did not. is what you developed similar to those hundreds and thousands common “indicators” – possibly not. so explanation, without disclosing your “secret”, would be of interest.

I have to admit, that I am more kind of on shug’s side. as you tell markets are complex, ultra-complex animals. here I fully agree. my conclusion from that is (after many years of painfull experience trading with “help” of common indicators) that one needs ultra-simple approach for trading in order to successfully maneuver there. ultra-simple means to me: no indicators. because every common indicator is “complex” at least or even extremely complex. I think folks don’t get that even a “simple moving avarage” is nothing “simple”, it’s something ultra-complex in context of financial markets price series. but: every trading system, at least automated one, needs conditions, variables. well, one can tell those conditions are also “indicators”. yep, one can tell that, sure, but I can tell, that my conditions for strategies I run live have absolutely nothing to do with any common indicators I know. nothing magic behind that, no super-maths there, dumb-ass conditions, which can not be “optimized” a lot – that is one of my base requirements: my trading conditions must be the way they can not be “optimized” a lot. and maybe yours are similar as well. you see, if you look precisely even shug has some “indicator” in his mind I would say which directs his side of trading and timing, it’s just not some common indicator available on prt (luckily…).

    hoping for your return…

    cheers

I was coding your setup all the day and backtesting – and results are trully fantastic. ha ha, just kidding. you are telling not really anything about your concept so who the f*** can code it, and if you think one can code it with support of moving avarage, well then I will skip it. I am attracted allways by ultra-simple concepts, and that means no “avarages” and no other BS “indicators”. so hope you are doing really well, and not just making happy brokers and brokers’ agents by your insane trading frequency (allways cool for brokers/brokers’s agents, they are simply freaking out and telling “thank you” seeing it, especially if there are big positions behind your activity…).

aside from that I wish England will show right now a beautifull game against France in football world champtionshit. pitty England lost against Argentina, they were fighting like bulldogs… at least in the beginning. I am not for England or France today, hoping just for interesting, respectfull, beautifull game.

    cheers

I think i figured part of the problem out, when i post things in here I don;t look at it as posting to 1 person, i just post things so anyone can read it and if they can benefit off it thats great. I did read the guys post but couldnt clearly understand it, i could have asked him about it more to see what he was talking about but i might have sounded stupid so i didn’t and as such he looked at the next post after his and assummed everything i said was targeted at his comments which it wasnt, i just spurt out randome things now and then on here and not very often. there is enough war in the world or i should say too much war, i wish the world would just chill out and get along. no need for bitter thoughts life is hard enough without making it worse for each other

Justisan i just cant wrap my head round the coding stuf and i’m not very good at explaining things either, i did think the pictures i put up was enough to give someone a start, something to look at on there own charts and add a bit of there own mind to it, watch it working every day and make use of it. there really isnt much to it if price starts moving in any direction thats the direction you want to go, no predicting stuf really, I do look at support and resistance areas i take from higher timeframes etc but its all basic stuf. nothing fancy. the entry is simple, soon as 1 bar closses your in and your scalping a few points and out again. Im a simple person with little schooling (i made a point of not going to school), so i look for easy things and i have done that with trading just keep things simple. no point in over complicating, dam i know a lot of really intelligent people who have blown loads of money trying this trading stuf so i thought if they cant do it what chance do i have. I’m doing good now with trading and i hope it continues , Iike to see others succeed as well.

Another part, if anyone is intresed in looking at that system pictured. What to do if your on 1 direction and market changes and goes against your position?

ill attch a picture for you.

Alot of what i do is managing positions because 1 thing i do know is that the market will go against me

    I got results attached.

lower curve is one only SL & TP for both Long and Short.

Top curve is one SL & TP for Long and a separate SL & TP for Short.

on S5 over 10k bars, so it won’t suit hardly anybody on here (before anybody rubbishes it!).

IMO life’s too short to wait for 200K bars (never mind a million bars) to optimise on PRT.

Why S5, because I trade S5 manual with a strategy very similar to Shug’s.

If results are anything like attached, I will not mind optimising every day (over previous day’s data) while eating my breakfast.

I be surprised if results are anything like attached, but I’ll let you know on Tuesday.

My methodology or mindset with looking at charts is that if price is moving in a certain direction its more than likelly going to continue in that direction for at least a short period of time and if your on in that direction and just going for a few points there is a really really high percentage chance it will get you a few points, especially if your trading the pullback, hence, if your buying, buy the close of a red bar if your selling, sell the close of a green bar, sounds counter intuative but your not just looking at 1 bar your looking at a series of previous bars, seems to make sense to me thats why i keep using it

saying that it hasnt worked out very well for me on the gold chart so i jumped to a higher timeframe with gold and changed my way of trading with that. Alwase good to test things out with very little a point to get used to the way the asset is moving, diffrent crowd mentality on diffrent assets its well worth experimenting on diffrent instruments for a while to get a sense of just the way it moves
