I do have prorealtime charts open at the same time as ig charts but i have wall st on ig chart and gold on prorealtime, ig charts seem to be the same, if i draw a line on the hr it also puts it on the 5 min chart

Did you try – right click on a 5 min Chart > Duplicate Chart and then select 1 hour timeframe?

I just did above and it worked.

I didn’t touch the ‘link buttons’ at all.

My links are set as attached.

I used to trade like this (pictured) I set limit orders and could walk away from charts, a bit diffrent from ig trading as limit orders on cmc markets dont take off the account until hit, on ig they do soon as you set them so i could get away with trading both ways with a lot of oprders in place without the drawdown of my account.

Hey Shug ! Which trading software the third batch of screenshots is from ? And what type of trading is this (daily trade ? swing trade ?). I would like to learn how to trade like this and know which trading software you used for that.

    Thank you for your answer

Hi, Trading software I use is cmc markets, IG Index software and tradingview for my charting. Trading software with ability to set alarms is much prefered, wether its to your phone or audio alearts on the computer. It was a while ago i was doing that. It was prity steight forward really, i think if i reacall correctly I would look at sessions on tradingview, look for swing highs and lows then make a box and extend it right of the screen the box was on the last candle before change of direction, the order block if your aware of smart money concepts, if not look it up its quite intresting. Its actually a good way of trading. I fell away from that because of time constraints and much prefer the scalping

I get boared as hell waiting i have to be active with trading, i scalp now and swing trade, I have my charts set over the weekends for gold, wall st and crude oil now and then ill look at the currency pairs but not that often now, for someone just starting out I would advise to stick to just 1 market until you get a feel for its moves get a rythem with it, look at any market for a while and you will adjust your breathing to it, just let it happen. when in tune with that market you can enter and exit positions very easily and you will get it right a lot.

Another thing I learned prity quick with support and resistance was that just because past levels have been respected in the past does not mean for certain they will be respected in the future and at some point they will be broken out of, its ok scalping these levels however when setting my levels I tend to look at the left of the chart rather than looking at numbers on the right of the screen. you can go with ‘what the market is doing now’, a lot better than what the market done in the past and more than what you think the market is going to do.

If the past is gone, the future isnt here yet then i suppose the present is the thing we should be focused on more

The past does have some impact on future results but does not guarentee a certain outcome.

Some go through a process like I did wasting time figuring out what style of trading suits me, if i knew that to begin with i would have saved myself a lot of time doing things diffrent.

Talking about time in my previous comment, we all learn things diffrent. For example, some people learn quicker and better by viewing things, some people learn better by hearing things some learn better by getting a feel for it but the best method is all 3 put together.

As some people predomintly live in the past, some mostly spend time in the present and some spend time in there mind thinking about the future, Its easy to know your own mind and what you do so use that to figure out your style because it will save you some time.

I figured out after some time that im a scalper but now i trade longer trades while i’m scalping.

Another thing i tend to tell people that have just started out is: keep it to yourself, don’t run round telling everyone your a trader and you trade the markets. It puts un nessasery pressure on you to perform which in turn allows you to do things you woulodnt or shouldnt be doing to ‘prove yourself’.

Can you remember the pressure that came from telling people you have your driving test in 2 weeks, then realising ‘shit’ i’ll have to pass because there all going to be asking me how i got on. then you realise you should have kept your mouth shut, same thing. The less pressure the better.

I delibratly done it in here myself by setting myself the challenge of winning 100 n a row sure, I had to do it and it did effect me, i did get the 100 and went on to 1000 but the point is when starting out don’t do it, only reason i did it was i have confidence over a large sample size that i can do it. I wouldnt have done it otherwise!
