Lets say I have a triggered long trade at 1pm and then 8 hrs later my system triggers a short while I still have my active long trade. The question I have is do I set parameters to keep current trade open until it completes by either taking my profit or stop loss OR do i close trade and enter short at market?

It’s a very open question. It obviously depends on the strategy in question. There is no real definitive answer to the question 🙂
The best way to know what’s best is to do a thorough analysis with:
_ a strategy that closes and opens in the opposite direction as soon as a new signal appears
_ make 2 different strategies and combined their results using Excel for example
