Yesterday my IG demo account switched to PRT v11. Other moderators are reporting that they can get 200K bars to test on but despite adding 200K as a units option I never see 200K bars.
I added a simple indicator:
count = count + 1
return count
…and on a tick chart I get 100K. All other charts give me much less than that so for example on a 15 minute chart I only get around 50K bars.
I know that Noobywan has the same limitation on bars as I do. He is on CFD and I am on a spread betting account so that is not the issue.
How many bars is everyone else getting?

So we have less history than we used to have with v10.3?
I can’t even get 100k bars on any bigger TF than 5 mins.
I dont have 200k bars either on my IG PRT11 demo account. I just have 200k bars on my good ole IG sponsored by PRT v10.3 account. AFAIK IG demo accounts switched to PRT11 are limited to just 100k bars. Lets wait a few days/weeks/months… until IG updates premium accounts to PRT11 as well !
The v11 platform gives you the option to set custom amounts of units. 200K is not a standard option but if you try to set a custom amount above 200K then you get a warning message so we have to assume that 200K is the maximum allowed. However I can not get more than 100K and that is only if I use a tick by tick chart.

This is true. Demo accounts are limited to 100k (as Demo hold “complete” and not “premium” privileges, by default) while “live” CFD accounts will get back their “Premium” features.

How many bars will the “historical mode” go back with IG ? 1 million bars or less ? On all timescales, also on the lower ones, such as 10 seconds ?

Any progress in this issue? IG CFD live account, 200k can be set, but backtest executed from the 27th of February. M5, M10, M15…
It is my understanding that the IG version of the client is developed or at least “led” by IG and not PRT. That being the case, you are better off contacting IG I think, at least, that is what I have done.
IG v11 live user, still getting 100k bars with 1 min time zone, same as 10.3. I think the only option is to ditch IG client and go for PRT premium client, but then you may not get 24/7 realtime data ;(

If you open an IG account via PRT then you get PRT Premium with live data and lots more data to play with. Open an IG Complete account via IG and it seems you only get 100k of data.

Would we get data for a 24 hour market for each instrument we pay for?

Would we get data linked to the cash market … i.e. data for / over market hours only?
Not sure I understand GraHal what you are asking.
If you open a PRT sponsored IG account then it is the same IG trading and live data as if you had opened an account directly with IG – except you get the ‘Premium’ version of PRT and not the ‘Complete’ version that IG give you. Premium has lots more bells and whistles and functionality and lots more historical data. Customer service is also via PRT and not via IG.
You are expected to be an active trader otherwise you will be charged and/or the PRT access stopped.
