    Hi, i am a complete novice with PRT but struggling to find some simple answers. if someone has the time to point me in the right direction, would be much appreciated. Questions as follows;

    1. are some functions disabled in the demo version, for example, under trading option there are only 6 order types, on the training videos there are 8 or ten, there is no OCO option?
    2. where can i find information on leverage and margin requirement for each trade i am setting up? on other platforms this is shown in the order pad. as i am just getting a handle trading i want to see for each trade
    3. is it possible to changes the quantity of a trade once placed? this aspect seems to be grayed out in any of the trade edit screens
    4. if the market is closed, but i want to close an open position when the market opens, is there a method for doing this, or do i have to do it manually when the market opens. everything i have tried just comes up with an error saying market is closed.
    5. can you view your account information with available funds somewhere in PRT ?

    Many thanks,

    Tim

I’ll dive in and answer 1 at a time, if anybody wants to add or answer any then feel free please! 🙂

    1.  What version do you have? The videos may be referring to v11??
    2. https://www.ig.com/uk/help-and-support/spread-betting-and-cfds/fees-and-charges/what-are-igs-indices-spread-bet-product-details
    3. You can add to a manual placed Trade, which will then be a separate trade.
    4. IG offer 24 hour 5 days for most Markets.
    5. You need to view account info on your broker Platform as the account is with your broker (not PRT)Mmm seems I answered all 5, but maybe not thoroughly, but Tim can come back with further questions.

    Hi Sleapy,

If you are using a demo through IG , it would indeed be different than the videos you see for ProRealTime ‘ s V11 version, and would there for PRT – IG V10.3 version ( which is still different the PRT V10.3 you could have had with Interactive Brokers)

If however you opened an account directly from ProRealTime’s website, you could either have the Software version or the demo trading version ( getting ready to open an account with Interactive Brokers)
In that case, all that you listed previously could be possible.
You may create your own order types.
Margin requirements will be displayed in the order entry before sending the order to the market
Of course you may change the order quantity ( before it is executed, obviously 😉 )
There are order types: “Market when open” to have a market order on the official opening time.

    Have a good day!
