I know it is not possible to change the ProOrder code that is already running. You need to stop it and prepare it again, with performance resat. I’m sure it’s the right way to do it, but I really like to change it anyway. Say for example- you starting with a minimum in the account and run the MM very conservative. Perhaps you want to increase the risk from 0.5% to 1 or maybe 2%, or for example you coded a strategy that is not holding any position during the Forex news, but the news schedule keeps changing. wouldn’t it be great to having a way to change the Live code- on the spot. So I’m thinking a CALL instruction to an indicator where we can change the fixed parameters.

    Can it be done?

Hmm, even if it’s possible I would advise against that from a systematic point of view. When you start mixing discretionary trading with auto systems its highly probable that you will make “human trading” mistakes. That’s why google has said no to steering wheels in their cars.

NNevertheless why not just run another instance of it as long as you haven’t maxed out the number of TS on PRT?

Hi dwgfx, First of all I agree with you on the mistake part. It was just an idea, because I actually saw a code that was incorporating not to trade when major forex news was released- it was a part of the strategy. This as to come as an external input as I would imagine- those news are not regular(?)

Generally news is generally regular on monthly basis. So you set the system to not trade or not open any more orders during that period.
