    Perhaps the emails you get from IG are only sent to the real big players (>150-200K)…

    Small correction : For those with a lost income of that amount. So I guess IG knows that. LOL.

    But seriously, how can it be that we received different emails and then on the exact same time ? Maybe my Google Translate acts better on losers. OK, lost incomers.

    Wait … I have a PRT sponsored IG account. I think you have a native IG account ? (later added with an IB account)
    Hmm …

    New IG email (13/09/2025 09:01) — weekend apparently starts at 09:01 on Saturday…

    Great opener, but where’s the part about algos being stopped during migrations/maintenance?

    Last time positions were affected and communication was vague at best…

    If IG is planning “small configuration changes” again, state the operational impact clearly:

    • Will ProOrder algos be halted or not?

    • Are positions at risk of being unmanaged?

    • What’s the exact window and which markets are touched?

    Dear traders,
    We hope that you have had an excellent trading week. As part of our ongoing effort to improve our platform, we will carry out scheduled technical work this weekend (13 and 14 September).

    What does this mean for you?
    During this period, small configuration changes may take place in some workspaces.

    We advise you to:

    • Check your workspaces. If you are missing markets, simply add them again from the main market list.

    • Check your charts. You may need to add a small number of markets again.

    • Check whether your favourite products retain the desired configuration (you can reset your favourites lists on Monday).

    We will do everything we can to keep the impact on your trading experience as small as possible. Should you nevertheless experience problems, please contact our support team.

    We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this improvement process.

    Have a nice weekend!
    Kind regards,

    IG

    The previous email is clearly a “retroactive” warning, without any specific dates, and sent for a reason we can all guess… Very sad how this communication is handled…

    The problems seem to have gotten worse to me, except for the DAX, which has finally been fixed. Now the Nasdaq and Dow continue to freeze with this message: Order Status: Rejected Order rejected by broker or market Account ID does not have permission for EPIC + Locale Combination I had blocked everyone who was running on ProOrder and reinstated them with the New EPIC on Friday evening. Disaster!!

    It would appear from the error message that you chose the wrong (for your Country?)  EPIC + Locale Combination?

    As per the notice, there are two indices for the same instrument (e.g. Nasdaq). In the backtest, one works perfectly, while the other doesn’t, so I set the only one that works, as I did for the Dow. What’s happening to me seems strange, then.

    Now I put everything in doing as said above and they stuck again with the same error.

    and reinstated them with the New EPIC on Friday evening.
    @Paolo.b, This is not what IG advised to do, IIRC. They said (similar) : reinstate on Monday Morning. Please notice that the ProOrder system takes the ID of the Chart in its current state. So if that was another ID on Friday evening – and still a wrong one, then your activity did not help. It would even be so that you would need to re-select the proper (?) ID on the chart. Thus as far as I can tell :
    1. Again kill the ProOrder system (of still running);
    2. Remove the instrument from the chart;
    3. Select the new instrument of which you think it is the correct one. Also, the selection goes by the description – I don’t know which you need but I suppose you know that yourself.
    Superfluously perhaps : Below you see my Nasdaq. This always kept on working (except for one-time thrown out systems a week ago on Saturday evening). Do you have / need a different one ? … I suppose both reside in Europe ?

    How can I find the ID of the instrument used from ProRealTime? This way I can compare it with the IG ID to see if it’s the same.

    I’m not sure what the problem is, but so far I haven’t had any algo crashes on any instrument. Neither in demo nor live. I use DAX (€1), NASDAQ (€1), and SP500 (€1). A week ago, these disappeared from my IG watchlist, and I had to re-add them. That was it. Everything worked fine in PRT until now. As I said, I don’t know why. Lucky? Or because they’re minis? German account? I have no idea.

    Hi Peter, I did it again 30 minutes ago with the same error.
    Great – NOW I get that error too. I must admit, this is the first trade my System tries to open today. So what last Friday (and the whole of last week) worked, now does not work any more. Existing positions remain (so far). 🙁
