The €1 Dax no longer exists in ProOrder

    #250456

Various minimum contract sizes have been changed. This includes the NASDAQ and SP500. Was this announced anywhere in advance?

I have similar issue, one algo with open position CFDs stopped due “external event” on saturday night. bad enough, yet crazy is that it shows  position exited on PRT, but it shows open on IG platform – and there I am not even able to close it manually! and abviously more things went wrong on weekend with IG, e.g. my favorit lists of insttruments disappeared, and some instruments I cannot find anymore, like spot gold, or EUR/USD 😀

the only good news – with IB/PRT all seems to run fine.

The problem won’t be easy to resolve.
There are two issues on PRT: interrupted strategies and some instruments that are untradable (Germany 40, US Crude Oil, Gold) due to the EPIC combination (the migration of product codes).
So IG is (apparently) unable to fix this problem.

    Hello everyone,

Following an incident that occurred on Saturday, IG has modified the mapping of some instrument IDs, which has caused incorrect identification of certain instruments within the ProRealTime platform. Please note that this issue is entirely the result of an error on IG’s side and is in no way related to a malfunction or failure of the ProRealTime platform.

At this time, we have no confirmed ETA for a fix—restoration might take several days.

In the meantime, here’s what you can do:

    • Monitor updates from both IG and the ProRealTime support team for any announcements.

    • Avoid modifying your code or automated strategies for now, as the mismatched instrument mappings could lead to unexpected behavior.

    • Prepare a testing plan for when the issue is resolved:

      • Verify that each instrument is correctly identified in ProRealTime.

      • Ensure all order executions (entries, exits, stop-losses, etc.) function as expected.

    • If you have doubts about existing live market orders, we recommend reaching out directly to IG to clarify their current status and ask for advice on how to manage them effectively under these circumstances.

We’ll update you as soon as we have reliable information about the fix.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Hi Nicolas, I sent what you wrote to IG (since they say the opposite), I’m waiting for their response.

    Hi Mauro,

In any case, forwarding it to IG won’t really help resolve the issue, as the fix will inevitably need to be made on the ProRealTime side due to how the instrument mapping works within the platform.

That said, let’s hope that next time IG makes such changes, they’ll plan their migration more carefully and fully consider the downstream impact it can have on users and platforms like ours.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as the situation evolves.

this is quite an old game, it happened so frequently in the past: if you approach PRT with some issues, they say it’s on IG, if you approach IG, they say it’s on PRT 😀

    very enchanting 🙁

    Hi!

    Support Team Message:

“We would like to inform you that on Saturday, September 6th, IG made significant changes to its instruments on the accounts of its European clients. It appears that the automatic services usually used for this type of modification were not activated by IG, which is causing impacts on the ProRealTime service.

The foreseeable consequences are as follows:

    • Certain instruments are unavailable on the platform.

    • The order history related to the affected instruments is missing.

    • Automated strategies may progressively be stopped on the instruments modified by IG.

We regret this situation, which is beyond our control, and are working actively with the relevant teams to minimize its impact and restore normal operation.

We will keep you informed of any developments.”

I called IG (luckily, as a premium customer, I have someone following me and I get immediate feedback).
Yes, they told me they were the ones who made the changes, but unfortunately, ProRealTime now has to adapt to their changes, otherwise this problem won’t be solved… of course, if they’d talked to each other before making these changes, all this wouldn’t have happened (it seems to me they have little communication with each other).

However, the Dax opens positions regularly with bots, even if we can’t see anything with ProOrder.

A clear short message is about to be added on platform start page:

“An unexpected modification to the instrument universe by IG might affect your ProRealTime platform. This situation is beyond our control. Our teams are actively working to resolve it.”

Will PRT also adjust the minimum contract sizes?
I just checked it live on the SP500.

    IG minimum size: 0.2 contracts
    PRT minimum size: 1 contract

    JS

I had to close the unlinked position with a €372 loss… pretty frustrating…

    I’ve filed a claim with IG…

    #250491

Guys, somehow I don’t hear too much about the money (despite JS just posting). BUT :

    Where I found my positions closed, under the hood they are not at all;
Yesterday I found this state/list on the IG platform explicitly showing closed positions, so I thought I was good. But today (markets open now) I see my portfolio vary more wildly than a EUR/USD rate would be able to incur for, and … I can find the positions in there after all. So what I showed yesterday (see below again, though from PRT), is just still active.
Unless I see ghosts (I really don’t want to), the issue is larger than “all is a problem of IG” (which clearly is the implied message so far). The cause may lay there, but what’s going on currently is beyond the cause – it is now the PRT platform misinforming us with plain wrong data (like explicitly showing positions closed, while they have not been closed).

The Systems have been aborted all right, as thus the pending (protective) orders.

    • The PRT Portfolio does not change a cent, so all looks to be fine.
    • The IG platform’s Portfolio does change, but coincidently in an acceptable fashion because of being Long And Short at the same time.
    • But nothing is correct because the positions are just still open without protection.

    So be careful !!
