@Nicolas
The day in the system still ends incorrectly at 06:00 and the H4 candles are also still incorrect.09/25/2025 at 8:59 AM #25175309/25/2025 at 9:00 AM #25175509/25/2025 at 9:08 AM #251756Help us solve the DAX spread problem
We are currently investigating the spread issue reported on the DAX.
To identify precisely which instrument is impacted, we need you to share with us the exact instrument link.👉 Here is how to retrieve it:
- Open the DAX instrument in your IG platform.
- Click on the menu button next to the instrument name.
- Select “Ouvrir cette valeur dans une nouvelle fenêtre”. (french sorry..)
(see screenshot below) - Copy the link from the new browser window that opens.
- Share this link with us here in the forum.
⚠️ Important: Never share your personal ProRealTime links, as they are tied to your account. We only need the IG instrument link obtained with the procedure above.
There are now 2 different DAX 1 € contracts (strangely).
One is https://deal.ig.com/web-platform/#/tearoff/market/IX.D.DAX.IDE.IP, it has the correct spread of 1.4 and minimum order size of 0.2 contracts
The other is https://deal.ig.com/web-platform/#/tearoff/market/IX.D.DAX.IFMM.IP, this one has spread = 1.8 (which is wrong), and minimum order size = 0.5 contracts.
Both of them can also be loaded in PRT and show the same values for spread and minimum order size there as on the IG platform.
And then there is the DAX 5 € contract : https://deal.ig.com/web-platform/#/tearoff/market/IX.D.DAX.IFMG.IP, which has the correct spread of 1.4.

09/25/2025 at 10:04 AM #251768Thank you for your feedback. After analysis, I can confirm that the Bid/Ask data used in the platform to measure the spread comes directly from IG. We are currently in contact with them to obtain clarifications on this point and will share updates as soon as we receive further information.

09/25/2025 at 10:04 AM #251769PROGRESS !
I have checked $ against € for US 500 and US Tech 100 on seconds charts and minute charts, and both currencies are exactly the same now ! 🙂
The times of the backtests are also OK for both; Dates start where they should.
🙂
May be a stupid question : Why is the price in $ the same as in € ?
1 $ = 0.85 €, as of today….
The reason is that IG receives the data feed from the US exchanges originally quoted in dollars (the correct/original feed), while many clients have euro accounts and want everything displayed in euros…
[…]
So all what happens is that both are denoted an other Point Value and the price as such of both is just equal. Smart trick.
[…]
There doesn’t need to be a conversion, because it is just the Point Value which changes. “Smart trick” as I said in the quote above.
By this means actually all is arranged for. Thus, a 20$ per point contract bears another Point Value compared to the 1$ contract.It should not look as if I always knew this (I never compared the two, $ and €) but it is just a logical setup (and smart);
What internally happens is that the normal price (e.g. 24.500 for the US Tech 100 on IG) is multiplied by the Point Value and since for this 1$ vs 1€ this Point Value is 1 for both, in $ one contract costs 24.500 US Dollar and in € one contract costs 24.500 euro.Below you see side by side the result in $ (left) and the result in € (right). Mind the currency indicator in the “Gem. winst” and “Max Drawdown” columns.
All figures are exactly the same (since this morning), which is exactly how it should work. And of course, using the $ contract brings less than the € contract, just because the value in EUR is higher than in USD – with the same numbers that is (like the shown 55.003,50). Also : the investment in $ is lower thus the profit (or loss) in $ is also lower (with a EUR/USD rate of 1.174 today).Btw, the first line testifies that the TF in seconds (21 seconds) is correct now, and the second line does that in minutes (1 minute). This is only of importance when the seconds stream is different than the minutes stream (which for e.g. IBKR is different – and which for the stream PRT creates herself also is different (in the PRT-IB version that is !) … as said earlier, for IG I don’t know). Regarding this, see the difference for PRT in choosing 60 seconds vs 1 minute, which really *is* different and can lead to different results, theoretically.
Clear a bit now ?
09/25/2025 at 10:09 AM #251773@Nicolas – In France I only find the link to the DAX version with a spread of 1.8. The link is exactly the same as shown above by XORANDNOT.
I did find a special version “Allemagne 40 au comptant – Weekend(1€)” with a spread of 25 points at the moment of writing this. No link for this one, however.1 user thanked author for this post.
09/25/2025 at 10:10 AM #251774This is what the euro and dollar chart looked like yesterday…
I showed similar, hence something is or was not right. But, is this a screenshot from Live or from Backtest ? I ask, because I’ve had both side by side on screen yesterday the whole day, and never saw a difference.

My links above are from a Swiss IG account.
In Germany, there is still another DAX 1 € contract : https://deal.ig.com/web-platform/#/tearoff/market/IX.D.DAX.IGN.IP, which has spread = 1.0 and minimum contract size = 0.5.
