I scalp the 5 min timeframe but in the direction of the 1 hour trend. I don’t put a stop loss in place unless an announcement is due within the next 1 hour just encase I get caught by surprise

Set a simple trend in H1 like MA10>MA15… I think that’s enough for trending in this TF. Just a tip.

Yesterday morning I decided to take every indicator off the 5 minute timeframe chart to see how I got on with my scalping, I did 50 trades with just a bare candle chart I feel confident now leaving that chart bare and continuing to trade without them

Yes shug has done the 500 trades now … well done shug!!!!!  He said so in the other Topic! 🙂

I didn’t think it would all end so quick, as in, it would be another week or so.

Surely it has to be some kind of record … maybe you should contact Guiness Book of Records!??

Have you thought about trying to automate your scalping strategy?

    Thanks m8!

I had my doubts when I started, really surprised I made it to 500, initially I thought maybe 200 trades without a loss but Just goes to show it can be done and has been done. I would have thought one of those algo trading things has done 500 without a loss? Once I started I was determined to get it over with quickly. I feel like a wee break now, I’ll post picture in this thread tomorrow of the completed challenge, It wont update until 7am in the morning.

    thanks !!!

    A big hats off, shug.

You might consider to complete 500 winning trades – your slippage things were very much in the beginning of your travel. If you lose on the first next one ? just don’t mention it.
And anyway then stop (because you might want to proceed to the 1000 … DON’T).

I’ve never seen anything like such a performance from an Algo?

It would be a good challenge, accepting that 3 to 5 points (even 1 to 2 points) would be the target profit for each trade?

    Thanks Peter!

No more challenges for me for a while, it puts the pressure on just a little. If anyone else gets to 500 let me know and then I’ll do 1000 LOL just kidding.

Just goes to show if you set your mind on something even though it sounds impossible it can be still achievable.

Those 2 slippage trades took the 100% from me but not for long because as I continue trading they will vanish into the past and the % will stay at 100%

    How’s that for confidence LOL

    Thanks!

    Roundup of performance

I did that many trades yesterday that I didn’t notice a breakeven trade but I don’t mind a break even that’s fine!

I’m going to stop trading for a week or so (take a well earned break) but I’ll come off the 5 minute chart and drop to a 3 or 1 minute chart to see how well I get on using the same method. I had a wee look at it and it looks the same but I’ll not know until I test it. This would mean 10 trades a day instead of 50 to 80 trades which sounds less straining looking at charts and more time to get outdoors and do other things.

Some of you might think — If what your doing is working don’t change it, but I can make good money with less time and less trades its well worth looking into. If it didn’t work as well in smaller timeframe I’ll just go back to the 5 min timeframe but I’ll definitely be dropping to maximum of 20 trades a day until I get the account up enough that I can get a living off of 5 to 10 trades and possibly 1 hour trading a day if that.
