Tick by Tick backtest mode available in beta 10.3!

Good news today! The tick by tick backtest mode is finally available for everyone in the 10.3 Beta version @ prorealtime.com Don’t ask me when it will be released for IG, I don’t know, but it is now time for everyone to test this beauty with all others features released with the new build on live server (manual trading report, scalping interface in orders book, etc..). This will be the thread for main testing of the new backtest engine, so don’t hesitate to post here your results, questions and other things of interest about it.

So have you got 10.3 with TT backtest now @Adolofo direct via IG or ‘IG sponsored’ via PRT?

For information @Alco I also had loads of ‘versions’ of ALEX AutoTradingBot INDEX on various instruments which I ran on Demo Trade for ages and in the end I binned the lot – dissilusioned, loads bigger losses overall than profit. Decided I’d look at them again when I have TT Backtest.

In 10.3 can you run automatic trading systems on LIVE tick charts and not just backtest with them?

It’s “only” tick/tick backtests. Automatic trading on live tick charts is something totally different, and still not available.

The amount of work that is involved for PRT I guess? PRT can only do so much? I know we want everything now! But well have to wait 🙂 You can manual trade on tick time frame I think?

Because ProOrder has not be designed for that at the first glance. Please remember that automated trading in real time is only possible since version 10 of the platform.

I know that multitimeframe trading which allows inside bar trading will be soon available, so please be patient, just like you I’m looking forward for it! 🙂

Thanks for the update Nicolas, I have bought historic tick data for the FDAX and wonder if it will be possible to import this into version 10.3 for backtesting, as I have about 20 years of tick data?

Anyone using IG PRT 10.3 for CFDs? Spreadbetting PRT is currently v10.2 and it does not have volume for most equities. I spoke to IG support and they advised to use CFDs account PRT instead because it supports v10.3 and displays volume. Here is the trick, for some reasons proscreener would not screen stocks on intraday timeframe because prices are delayed/not live. Paying for live prices makes no sense to me as I am using CFDs account only to screen stocks.

Why PRT cannot use delayed data, it is available on upto 5min timeframe which would suit me very well?
