If you move all to Real Live, the fun will be real.
I am not even kidding. And my promise : it is way less frustrating. Though there too anomalies happen for sure, they happen way less often. And in the end you need to deal with *those*, right ? Unless your end game is Monopoly. Then I don’t know …12/03/2025 at 12:14 AM #254182I run a mix of strategies live… real… real money. Everything’s running smoothly there. On the demo account, I have a selection of my best strategies, various versions of them running, to gather statistical data on which strategies perform most consistently over a longer period. And of course, an event like this throws everything into disarray again. I like to test without risk.
12/03/2025 at 12:47 AM #254183I am telling it more often : If you rally cars, there is no single way to test this in paper mode or other demo mode. This, while you could drive the very same car with your helmet on through your own picked woods. You just won’t get flat out on that gravel track with trees all over the place, never mind it is not allowed; you can’t. It is a dopamine thing. You won’t risk your life without reward in sight. Same is with trading.
This is not out loud read textbook stuff. It is just my experience of both.
Only from the real, hard world you will learn and improve. If you go on a nice vacation, will you throw out your auto systems in demo because you might lose ?
Or will you take all precautions possible taking care of not losing, including not going on vacation to begin with, *or* have the systems so robust that you happily can, see your money grow on CarPlay or Android Auto ? I do the latter with the greatest pleasure. It is the joy of all rides. With Demo on your car’s dash ?… Need I say more ?12/03/2025 at 1:05 AM #254184But let me be clear. Of course it is a good thing to test without risk. But my point would be : that won’t be real testing. It won’t cause you to squeeze out all the best you have inside of you.
I have a couple of utmost small accounts, which I refuse to make larger by deposits. They can only grow / recuperate by earning it. These are my test accounts. One for IB and one for IG. They allow me to test myself (and the systems) to be so robust that the real thing will eventually happen in the real accounts. And as we know, that takes many years.12/03/2025 at 8:02 AM #254185Hello everyone,

12/03/2025 at 10:38 PM #254232Sorry but this is a stupid strategy, When you made a ProOrder or whatever in other languages, you are doing a program and a program can have bugs or not considered situations that can burn your account so, the demo environment is crucial because the back test can’t simulate all. IG it is one of the worst platform for paper trading because they allow a ProOrder only for 30 days if i’m not wrong and this is absolutely a too short period. If at this limitation you are going to add also technical problem, you are in a bad situation, believe me.
Trading is not for Kamikaze, is for prudent people.
