Hi is it possible to do semi automatic trading with PRT? i.e. manually enter a position to exit at a moving average cross over, then automatically close the auto trading down at he ma cross over?

You could do similar by using the ‘Alert combined with Order Condition’ as your exit criteria … but remember not to close the Platform before exit conditions have been met.
Also if you internet connection goes down then the ‘Alert combined with Order Condition’ is also lost!

If you are long on IG and you shortsell on PRT, they system has to either force open the short position or close the long position. I did try this scenario a few days ago and my long position was closed.

10/14/2017 at 11:31 PM #49382I “think” I did the above to close a long position which I had opened manually. I tried this again recently but it didn’t work this time and I don’t know why. I called IG and asked. They said you can’t close a manually opened position with PRT code. So I may have been wrong. I’m still new to this and learning.

That’s right.
