    Hello – I hope everyone is keeping well,

    After much searching on the ProBuilder Forum I am asking for assistance with a stop loss and target profit setup I wish to use in PRT.  I have found this to be a very effective Risk Management approach over the years.  It helps to lock in gains early, which in turn further boosts the Win Ratio for the strategies.

    I would love to have this coded for PRT.  The Risk Management approach is as follows;

    For Buy Long;

    -At point of entry identify recent low in last 8 bars

    -Set Trailing Stop Loss to Lowest price in recent 8 bars (N)

    -Set Target Profit to Entry Price + (N)

    Eg:  Entry at 100, recent Low in last 8 bars is 92, therefore Trailing Stop Loss = 92

    Entry Price – Low in 8 bars = 100 – 92, therefore N = 8

    Target Price = Entry Price + N, so 100 + 8 = Target Price of 108

    I then look to break the the Target Price into 4 incremental stages and set this as the step value for the Trailing Stop Loss ;

    N * 0.25

    =8 * 0.25 = 2, so Trailing Stop Loss Step Value = 2

    Opening Trailing Stop Loss = 92

    When Price reaches 102, move Trailing Stop Loss from 92 to Entry Price 100 (not the step value, but to lock in initial gain)

    When Price reaches 104, move Trailing Stop Loss from 100 to 102 (Entry Price + TSL Step Value)

    When Price reaches 106, move Trailing Stop Loss 102 to 104 (TSL + TSL Step Value)

    When Price reaches 108, close position and celebrate!

    Please can someone kindly help?  Attachment helps explain with example trade.  I would really appreciate help to get this coded, beer tokens on offer of course!  🙂

    Thank you,

    S

    You probably haven’t found anything because you were looking in the wrong place just like you posted your first topic in the wrong place!

    ProBuilder is for indicator topics and ProOrder is for strategy topics as is explained in the few simple forum rules that you were asked to read and understand before clicking submit.

    I will waste another bit of my day moving yet another first topic.

    Here is a reminder of the rules:

    I have highlighted in bold the rule/rules that you have not followed:

    Post your topic in the correct forum.

    ProRealTime Platform Support          only platform related issues.
    ProOrder                                                only strategy topics.
    ProBuilder                                              only indicator topics.
    ProScreener                                           only screener topics
    General Discussion                               any other topics.
    Welcome New Members                      for new forum members to introduce themselves.

    Only post in the language of the forum that you are posting in. For example English only in the English speaking forums and French only in the French speaking forums.
    Always use the ‘Insert PRT Code’ button when putting code in your posts to make it easier for others to read.
    Do not double post. Ask your question only once and only in one forum. All double posts will be deleted anyway so posting the same question multiple times will just be wasting your own time and will not get you an answer any quicker. Double posting just creates confusion in the forums.
    Be careful when quoting others in your posts. Only use the quote option when you need to highlight a particular bit of text that you are referring to or to highlight that you are replying to a particular member if there are several involved in a conversation. Do not include large amounts of code in your quotes. Just highlight the text you want to quote and then click on ‘Quote’.
    Give your topic a meaningful title. Describe your question or your subject in your title. Do not use meaningless titles such as ‘Coding Help Needed’.
    Do not include personal information such as email addresses or telephone numbers in your posts. If you would like to contact another forum member directly outside of the forums then contact the forums administrator via ‘Contact Us’ and they will pass your details on to the member that you wish to contact.
    Always be polite and courteous to others.
    Have fun.

    I have edited your post where required. Please ensure that your future posts meet these few simple forum rules. 🙂

    In addition please use a different format when attaching images. For example .PNG works much better for previewing easily rather than expecting others to download and save and then open and then delete other formats.
