What is the criteria for inclusion in predefined lists like US Tech 150?

I thought it was top ranked market capital NASDAQ stocks.

TSLA had been in the US Tech 150 list until a few days ago.  TSLA is still in the US Tech 600 list.

I’ve looked everywhere and cannot find anything that gives me even a hint of an answer.

I have always seen it as a “manually” composed list by someone at PRT. I often wondered myself, always staring at it at PRT-IB it is a list with 99 stocks in it plus the Nasdaq 100 Index). I have it on-screen continuously.
I think it is provided one time at first time install of PRT and after that you can change the list yourself (exactly the reason why I think it is provided only once).

You could ask PRT direct using the Form on the link below.

Please let us know what PRT say.

TSLA fell off the US Tech 150 list just last week so I’m inclined to think it’s related to a ranking of rate of change (movers) or something like that.  I sent multiple requests to PRT a few days ago and I’ll post here what I find out from them.

These are lists that are generated with the most active stocks from each market.

To be more specific about “most active”, do you mean the most volume in a day, and is the list updated daily?

Nicolas, could you be more specific please – by “most active”, do you mean the most volume in a day, and is the list updated daily?

The list is built internally by a formula that I don’t know, sorry.

I’ve been back and forth with PRT and so far have only been able to extract (yes, like pulling teeth) this half baked response.  Still waiting for an explanation as to why TSLA fell from the Tech 150 list but not the Tech 600 list.

    Hi Mr Grigg,

Yes, US Tech 150 = top 150 US tech sector shares. It seems TSLA got a new sector category ‘Automotive’ and fell out of the tech. We will switch the US TECH 150 to top Nasdaq 150 mkt cap stocks, this takes some time.
