Hi guys, this topic is for all discussions related to the Pathfinder trading system strategies. The system based on four components that work perfectly together. signalline – instrument trend line based on two smoothed averages (Wilder and Time Series) breakout levels – previous daily, weekly and monthly high/lows in combination with fast and slow averages as filters because not every breakout is profitable saisonal behavior – position size will be boost with a multiplier for each month depending on the historical seasonal behavior smart money and position management – grid orders, maximal position size monitoring, superordinate stop loss/take profit, trailing stop and maximum holding periods are used mechanisms The Pathfinder breakout logic works well for many instruments with 24 hour quotes such as DAX, DOW, FTSE, Hang Seng, NIKKEI in 4 hours timeframe. All versions are optimized for an 10k Euro account. Pathfinder strategies offer a statistical advantage but are of course not a holy grail and there is no guarantee to make money with it. The systems are optimized for historical data and historical gains are not a guarantee to be successful in the future. I strictly recommend to adjust the position sizes to your personal account size and try first in demo mode. The results in life trading will differ from the backtest results. I also recommend to start in life trading with a small account size. Anyone can use the programs for free and at their own risk. Pathfinder is my private and fully transparent algorithmic trading project exclusively implemented for ProRealTime 10.3. The status is experimental and I don’t trade all the systems presented here. HS50 closed tonight with 1951.78€ profit in live account .. impressive! HS50 generally has a awesome trackrecord with Pathfinder.

Morning all,

Someone asked me to review entry time for my logged in trade on the FTSE100 on 17/3 on the Excel sheet. I just had a look at my order list and I can confirm that the close entry was executed at 20:00 GMT.

Hi maleknf – I think it was meant that the opening trade entry date needs to be checked. The date field in column A is only for the opening entry times which has already been populated on the 10/03 for this position. There is no date field for a closing trade, you simply input the closing price in the exit price column when this happens. Unless you are saying that your position was opened (and closed) on the 17/03 ? Then in which case your input is correct, however it doesn’t look like anyone else has had that particular type of trade triggered.

Maybe we need to add in a column on the far right for the closing date.

Hi

Dax 4h v6 – yesterday evening at 9.00 pm (UTC+1) it has changes stop to 11956 correctly.

At 01.00 am (UTC+1) it has changed trailing stop to 12444 for an error. This problem persist in my platform

At 05.00 am I’ve chenged stop to 11935 manually, because trailing stop is 0.4% of opencandle value 11893

My stop is also at 12444. 11956 was cancelled/rejected.

Is it possible to change an autostop manually?

Hi Dajvop

it is not possible to maintain an autostop, it’s possible from IG platform to change stop order value and this position will not close, but Pathfinder will be interrupted and you must follow position manually.

I’ve attached picture of my Stop and Take profit – following Pathfinder value

Remember to change stop value every new open candle, at 0,4% of the open new candle value

Hi Ale,

So what you are saying is that once exist position is triggered we refer to the entry time of the trade when log it on the sheet?

I tried to amend it but I am not able to make any changes to the excel sheet

Now at 09.00 (GMT+1) the stop is reset again. This time to 11907.8 for DAX 4H. We have a strange behaviour in the code.
Maybe @Nicolas have some idea?

Can it be that the problem for some reason is related to our trading window 09.00-21.00?

It was first moved yesterday evening at 21.00. Then during the night at 01.00 and 05.00 nothing happened, but when trading window opened again 09.00 it was moved!

DAX 4h closed at 11908.4 by the stoploss.

I tried to put this in the Tradelog, but it was writeprotected! Is this made by mistake or what is the purpose? It will be hard to cooperate to keep the log updated!

@maleknf anybody can amend any cell at any time on the Trade Log.

A warning shows on closed Trades … just to make sure we ‘double-check ourselves’ that we do want to edit that cell.

@Manel … I will add an Exit Date column.

but it is missing broker fee and other fees because other currencies that are not euro ( ftse, dow , $ hk , japan )…..

in demo i ve a lot strategies for dow ( wall street in prt ) and fees are very expensive .

@Manel … the Sheet must have ‘auto-changed permissions’ when I added the exit date columns. Should be okay now?

@Paris the Sheet could be complex if we added fees because fees are individual based and the Sheet is for group benefit / reference. What do you think?
