    Hi, your platform doesn’t save.

It’s been problematic for months, so what’s the point?

I find it hard to believe that the ability to save is not working on my platform but that is the ongoing reality for me. I’ve emailed IG/PRT before. No response let alone a fix. It is highly disruptive and excessively time consuming. The amount of time I have to spend going and checking PRT systems code against saved Apple Text Edit notes of the systems… For example I logged in this morning only to find all the settings for a system that I copied into a PRT systems notes were missing and the text that was in there that I had deleted last night was still there. Frankly its ridiculous… Luckily I had the Apple Text Edit notes version already saved but my point is simple:

If there are no fixes, what is the point of using PRT anymore?

HERE’S THE KIND OF NONSENSE I’M EXPERIENCING. These are my unanswered messages sent via the platform: (The platform crashes seem to be fixed presently).

    Hi

Platform regularly crashes after Macbook Pro with latest s/ware is woken up from sleep.

Platform Multi Indicator Samsung template layout has been completely lost. I thought I’d be able to recover the template using a back up but even the back up version that fits my 50 Samsung TV that I use as a monitor is reduced to utter chaos:
This is what is left of a approximately 15 chart template: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cz4kxk0vtqtgr9x/PRT-chaos.png?dl=0

I have configured these templates SO MANY TIMES to fit neatly on my 50” monitor only to find no semblance of them after such a crash.

As it stands your platform and the latest Mac 10.14.6 is unstable and unusable.

    Thanks

    Hi

I made a duplicate system based on this system: Pivot Support/Resistance Zones.
I had a lot of trouble creating the duplicate. (I had good ethernet internet connection).
I quit and logged back in and saw 3 duplicates. I deleted them. I made a single duplicate named: Pivot Support/Resist Zones OPT.
I tested it extensively yesterday. Here is one of many versions and timeframes I tested/optimised:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/ug5gwc9ox28onkx/Pivot%20Support%20Resistance%20Zones%20Dow%20OPT%2010%20MIn.png

Today I find the same three duplicates I already deleted yesterday and had seen that they’d been deleted when I logged in and out a few times yesterday.
I also see that my OPT system version is missing? These are the kind of problems I had reported on 22 Oct 2019.

Could you please tell me what is going on with this platform and its inability to save information? I have noticed your servers seem slow when clicking on charts/indicators on the top right of a chart?

    Thanks,

    REPORTED IT IN PRC FORUMS

    Never ending save problems…

Hi there, following on from my previous request for support over save issues on the PRT platform (Sent 8th Ap 2019 — 13.45pm), I am today looking at a chart that has no ATR Trailing Stop even though I added it yesterday and it was saved both in the master template (Machine Learning) and its backup (Machine Learning Backup) and I logged out and back in and it was still there last night. Why is it not there this morning? Not just not on the chart but not even in my indicator list?

I would also like to add is there going to be a fix for the scrolling issue (for Macbook users) that I reported on the PRC forum and then by email? I cannot scroll with two finger on a chart or in a system creation window. It makes using this platform very difficult.

This is such an amazing platform, I just find it hard to believe I’m experiencing such basic issues like “saving to memory” and “scrolling?”

    Thanks for listening,

    //////

The Macbook scrolling issue was reported by me two weeks ago, other people complained all to NO AVAIL: https://www.prorealcode.com/topic/updated-to-v10-3-1-8-0-202/

PRT certainly don’t appear to be listening, nor care?

We don’t want to lose you Bard and I’m sure you don’t want to waste the 4 years that you have invested in PRT.

Also you may swap 3 problems on PRT for 6 or more on another platform?  🙁

I strongly sympathise with your plight. I do not have the same Issues, but I have plenty of frustrations using PRT … which is why I disabled my Live Account in May 2018.

I got fed up waiting for v11  so I enabled Live 3 weeks ago. Also I know I would not repeat the time out of my life to get familiar with another platform.

Beats me why PRT spent so much time on v11 bells and whistles when there are loads of user frustrations still existing in the basic platform? Anyway enough of my rants else I’ll not sleep tonight! 🙂

I use an £110 ex lease desktop (HP small form factor … like corporate PC’s) it does me great … loads on ebay at good specs for between 100 and 150 pounds.  Why don’t you get yourself onto windows as an interim to get you sorted and back in business again until PRT sort this issue … could even be after Corona, who knows??

You could even get a cheap windows laptop if you have to have a laptop?  Easily sell again for near same what you paid for it?

Just a few thoughts anyway as it would be a quick solution instead of either moving on or getting more and more flippin mad every day (I know cos that’s what I’m like too!)

Make a pot of valerian tea and get a windows machine ordered and get on with life with least disruption??

I sincerely can’t imagine anything worse than the issues I’ve had to put up with. All my mean reversions systems were graphing x and y perfectly, after two days of getting them to work, now Im back to two flat x and y lines because this isn’t the system I saved yesterday night. I now have to got through all the different versions I saved to Apple Text Edit… It’s pathetic.

And thank you, that’s nice to hear. I feel like I’m only just beginning to get into my stride with these automated systems and programming, particularly since Juanj’s latest contribution and it has been a really enjoyable collaboration. It’s only that friendly help and support here with members and moderators that has kept me with PRT.

What about getting a windows machine … solve your immediate problems and drop the stress levels … not good for your heart! 🙂

    #129454

Yes, Im going for a walk. This has completely ruined the day. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.

Actually I just edited/added to my last response, (I added ” All my mean reversions systems…”) so people can have a look at yet another example of the complete and utter nonsense I’m experiencing using this platform. I screenshot everything now (because of PRT inconsistencies). MY graphs for x and y worked before I stopped last night, now they’re all flat. Hours of work wasted while I find the Text Edit fix.

Windows is old, maybe it’ll not work with PRT.

I just sent off for a Britannia Markets trading platform demo…

Windows is old, maybe it’ll not work with PRT.

What do you think 95% of us are using … Windows 10 … none of the same issues you guys are experiencing on Mac’s.

Windows 10 is the latest version of Windows. Windows 11 is set to be released end July 2020.

The SFF ex lease corporate desktops I mentioned via ebay are only a few years old and come with Windows 10 installed … check the ads to make sure it says windows 10 is installed … you could be up and running by Tuesday / Wednesday?

I woke with further thoughts! 🙂

How many Systems have you got stored on the screen shown attached?

I used to have dozens, hundreds maybe and since I now store them on my PC I have found a lot less freezing / hanging and other weird PRT Issues?

Also less Systems stored means I can find what I am currently working on so much easier.

It occurred to me as odd that no other Mac user has added to this Topic saying they cannot save??

    #129529

Why don’t you ask the Mods to change the title of this Topic to …

Apple Mac Users, PLEASE Comment – CAN YOU SAVE IN PRT??

I don’t use shortcuts. The menu to save & close and that is trouble free if there’s a connection. ps, have you tried bootcamp?

Boot Camp is a utility that comes with your Mac and lets you switch between macOS and Windows. Download your copy of Windows 10, then let Boot Camp Assistant walk you through the installation steps.

How many Systems have you got stored on the screen shown attached?

About 360. But I just checked the file size of a big ML itf file and it’s only 4kb. It cannot be the 360 systems. Tried a Toshiba PC about 10 years ago, couldn’t get on with Windows as an Apple user since 2000. Took it back after 2 weeks! Does Windows XP that I have with VR Fusion work with PRT? Nice tip @Paul, I’ve never tried Bootcamp.

    But what’s “wrong” with Macs?

Hello @Vonasi, @Nicolas @Robertogozzi, perhaps one of you could please ask PRT to look into this save issue and finally resolve the problem for me, I’ve “only” been asking PRT since Oct 2019… Thanks very much.

    #129624

It cannot be the 360 systems.

Maybe not file size / memory but maybe some other reason we know nothing about?

Anyway you noted that Paul stated he does not have a problem saving on his Mac??

I probably had hundreds .itf’s ages ago and it drove me mad anyway scrolling up and down, and with their being no folder option … I used to feel overwhelmed!

It feels so much more organised with the list showing only the .itf’s currently being worked on.

Try it … export those  360 files onto your Mac and come back and tell us you are still having the Save issue??

You can  store in logical folders (for various types or dates etc) and easily import as and when you need them in 3 clicks and about 3 seconds … less time than scrolling up and down the PRT screen??

    #129713

Hi Bard, sorry for that. I don’t know if your tickets have been delivered to PRT by IG.

To save the platform in its current state with all changes made, even with codes, go to File / Save (your current template).

I’ll try to know more about the current issues with Mac users.

I’ve lost PRT work both on MacOS and PC with Windows 10…I feel your pain Bard but I still like PRT and it’s potential and truly belive that future versions will have improvements regarding saving files and work. I would love to have an offline editor supported by PRT where you easily could import and export itf-files.

As for now I’m using Notepad++ (Windows 10) with a custom made PRT-template where I can write, store, document and organise my work. As soon as I make changes in PRT i copy and paste it to Notepad++.
Notepad++ has an option called “Folder as Workspace” where I’ve linked to a folder in Onedrive. Now I don’t have to worry about losing work as long as I follow my simple copy/paste-rule.
I try to only keep active projects in PRT to keep it “clean”.

See screenshot how it looks like in Notepad++

Thanks Nicolas, appreciated, and the scrolling issue is really in need of being fixed too.
