It’s irritating and makes for a lot of work and is just a schlep to make/have one’s Demo layout/config the same as Live account’s config.
Log a case through the help menu. PRT will then make the changes the on their side so one’s Demo and Live config are the same. They won’t let a user make the changes.

That frustration is completely understandable, but it is actually pretty standard behaviour across most trading platforms and software in general. Settings and layout configurations are typically stored locally on each environment, and they do not automatically sync between a Demo account and a Live account because these are treated as two separate instances on their side.
A simple analogy: if you have Excel installed on your laptop and on your desktop, any custom settings, toolbars or preferences you configure on one will not magically appear on the other. You have to go through the setup manually on each machine. It is the same principle here, just more visible because you are working with a trading platform where the layout really matters.
