Hey guys. How do you manage your strategies when they are in a position and price struggle to break a level? Let it run, close, move stop closer etc.

So far ive only used a ranged exit if price ranges for x bars between x price.

Would be interesting to hear other solutions.

    Hi,
It depends on whether you have enough confidence in your system. Personally, I trust my system, even in these kinds of situations, but of course, that depends on the performance of your system. I don’t use a “stop loss” or “target profit” myself, but in this situation, it could make sense to adjust your “stop loss.”

    Other options could be:

    • Moving your “stop loss” to “break-even.”
    • Incorporating a rule in your system to automatically close these kinds of “zombie trades” after a certain period (time limit).
    • Using additional indicators, such as “momentum” or “volume.”
    • Switching to another strategy, such as “swing” or “mean reversion,” when the market is in a range.
