I’m interested in spread betting on stocks with in the FTSE 250 but would like to filter out stocks that have too high a spread when compared to the average true range. Plainly it’s hard work making a profit on an instrument that has a 15 point spread and only moves 10 points on an average day. Does Prorealtime enable me to search for instruments that have a good price movement to spread ratio, as a standard function? If not any ideas how to do it short of laboriously going through each instrument?
Many thanks.
Historical spread information is unfortunately not available in PRT. There is also no way currently to use live spread prices in an indicator or a strategy.
But we still could make a screener that sort the instruments from lower to higher ATR or higher to lower ones.. or even make a rule in the screener to filter instruments below XX ATR.
Thank you both for your replies, I’m grateful. I’ll have a stab as you suggest, at using the pro screener to sort instruments by atr high to low; at least a step in the right direction.
