Detailed Report – Anomaly?

  I see this is quite an old topic being discussed. However, I am now also having issues with the account detailed report.
  Some trades do not appear in manual or automated trade tap, but appear in the all trading tab. Meaning All is not equal to manual + automated trading.
  Some automated trades appearing in the automated tab but are not linked to any automatic trading systems.

  Is there a way of identifying automated transactions in the IG Historical transactions report ?

  I am running a number of strategies on top of manual trades , and would like to reconcile all transactions to each system and find this very difficult. The only way seems to be manual reconciliation, but this is too time consuming. The other option if allowed is to open multiple IG accounts for the different concepts, but this might become costly as each account will need to be funded separately.

  What is everyone doing to reliably keep track of all systems ?

  This is one of my top frustrations … not good analysis tools etc.

  If you add ‘System’ to the Orders List then you can see which trade is which System.

  It would be loads better if PRT combined the Orders List Report with the Detailed Report (Trading > Detailed Report) ?  Then we could easily see how we are doing today, this week etc?

  But not really as the Detailed Report is flawed anyway as it only show trades opened AND closed today, this week etc! 🙁

  If a trade was opened last week  but closed this week then it does not appear on any weekly view on the Detailed Report.  It may appear on a Monthly view as long the trade does not straddle 2 months!  Then it would have to be a Quarterly Report, as long as … etc! Crazy or what??

  Rant over … need to check on my trade the alert is going off!! 🙂

  I just read a few previous emails and Nicolas says the above flaw in the Detailed Report is down to be sorted more logically … presumable all trades closed today will appear on Todays Report etc (in a future PRT version).

  Thanks Grahal, as always very useful answer.

  I wasn’t using the order list report, but this will be more useful than the detailed report; as at least I will be able to associate to the system and also cross check the order ref with IG transactions list. I agree with you ideally, we would like to have the combination of the detailed report with the order list.

  The detailed report is still having errors (missing transactions), for example the total of all trades is not equal to the manual tab + automated tab.

  Now thanks to your help that I discovered the order list with the system column, I shall be able to do some better reconciliation with the detailed report and see exactly what the issues are.

  PS : I nevertheless opened a different account with IG index for the manual trades. This will already help me

  Now I have another issue. The order list does not allow to specify from and to dates. And has a limit of 500 orders, so it is not possible to retrieve all my orders.

  Would it not be possible to have from to date ? Or/And retrieve the orders in block of 500 instead of 500 max

  You can add a Filter at the top (barely visible?)  … add a keyword from the title of a System and only that System Orders will be displayed.
