can multiple trading systems be ran on the same market?

hello folks

Quick question….

Is it possible to run multiple trading algos on the same market? In other words, does IG and Prorealtime allow multiple trades to be open with different strategies, possibly moving in the opposite dirtection? (longs and shorts).

Yes, provided you have ticked the boxes in Settings in PRT and / or IG (I forget which) to allow Longs and Shorts.

thanks guys, I knew there was a setting somewhere…

Would this feature would be aid in portfolio diversifcation if the startegies employed in a particular market where different? trend following, breakouts, mean reversion, different timeframes, etc

Yes, it’s a more balanced approach to go long and short (as opposed to long only).

Look at what long only strategies missed out on this week, for example DJI etc?
