    Yes, you go ahead please … be good to make good use of the work / time we spent in the past.

    #191808

    @Grahal yes I will;
    if only I could convince you that for new comers it such a long learning curve scrowling the forums and that all what we can do to accelerate this proess is just good for the community.

    Starting with putting all the valuable strategies that has been worked on in the library. We need you for this!

    Not sure why I’m needed (apart from ‘many hands make light work‘) but part of the reason Strats were in the Forum (not posted in the Library) is that Nicolas considered them too optimised etc and they needed more work and so they got discussed in a Forum Topic.

    Hi @Grahal, yes because the more the merier  but also more preciously thanks to your experience of the site you are probably one of the very few who knows where the most interesting strats are in the forums;

    I was not aware of this point about Nicolas decision but I guess he would agree to post in the library the best ones worked in the forums right?

    So you are truly needed @Grahal 🙂

    too optimised etc and they needed more work

    Indeed, nobody is helped with a pile of Strategies in the library of which is known in advance that they don’t suit to be in there in the first place.
    Additionally, to me it seems that originators of Strategies/Indicators/Screeners should add their respective works to the library. Not random others.

    @PeterSt this is exactly the point of the updated backtest file;

    what is your proposal if the originators do not enrich the library?

    #191844

    Besides, where is the problem if the originators are quoted by the publisher

    #191895

    I usually optimize a 4h or 1h strategy once or twice a year, a 5-minute strategy once a month or every other month, a 1-minute strategy once every other week, a 10-second strategy every week and  so on…

    Hi Roberto,

    Very useful, much appreciated.  When you re-optimise a strategy are you doing so on all historical data or are you doing so on the most recent X% of the data?

    Thanks

    #191906

    I always optimize on all historical data available.
