Auto Trade Only Pushing through first Order

  Hi Nicolas,

  I wonder if you could suggest anything..

  I have an auto trade running at the moment on a demo ac with IG.

  The Pro Order Trading sends the first trade to the (IG) platform but not the subsequent trades

  • for example it may build a position over a period of minutes (5 mins – 5 positions)

  Only one position appears on the platform although all trades appear in the “Order List”.

  Not sure why this is …hence, any thoughts ?

  Hi Hugh,

  The first idea that came to me is that all orders are aggregated on the platform, that’s why you only see 1 “big” order?

  Thanks for your quick reply.

  It’s not aggregating the order.

  I’ll try and speak with IG at some stage to see if there is some setting and will let you know if they come up with anything.

  Hi Nicolas,

  Well I’m pleased to say that IG have suggested this and I mention it as they have said it’s quite a common sticking point.

  After you have asked a Back Test to Auto Trade and then “Start” is pressed there is a box to fill out at the bottom of the screen.

  This refers to the number of trades that the system can carry out  ( not the the amount PP as I thought).

  Hence, I put in “3” into this box – so the system only maxs out on exposure of “3” – which is the amount in my code.

  So I need to adjust this to “9” which – I’m assuming will allow 3 positions (of 3PPP).

  I’ve put a screen shot below of the box that I’m discussing here.
