Does the order list say why it was rejected?
edit, I see now you say it was stopped – not rejected. Unless it was stopped because rejected orders though?

Cant be difficult surely … it’s either a Long or a Short? 🙂

Must be more to it than the Stop message implies?

I reckon that is a catch all Stop message … when nothing specific applies?

I’ve had it loads over the years, so damn annoying as it leaves us not able to look for the problem in the code??

To make matters worse, did anyone notice that IG just jacked up the margin rate, about 15 minutes ago? No warning, no email, no nothing. I’m with IG Switzerland and the major indices just went from .5% to 2%. Will affect all new trades so expect to see a lot more rejections!

I rang them and they hope it’s just until Monday if things calm down a bit. Still, there should have been some notice given.

They don’t care where you actually live. The Swiss office is the only one left that still has the pre-ESMA margin rates.

And are you subject to Swiss capital gain taxation? Or taxation of your country of residence? (Provided that you have chosen the administrative regime)

When mine stops, I get the message

“One of the orders of this trading system was rejected. Due to the type of rejection, the trading system had to be stopped. To see the reason the order was rejected, open the order list, go to the”Canceled/Rejected” tab and place your mouse over the warning icon in the “Status” column.”

but the order list is empty and I can’t see any “Canceled/Rejected” tab even if it weren’t.

It’s a strange one because the basics of the code are the same for the DOW and NAS versions which run fine, only the DAX gets stopped.🤔
