TempusFugit – Your first point I can agree with as it is something that I already alluded to earlier. For IG PRT is just a sparkly trinket to get people to open IG accounts. For PRT it is their whole business and so they will dedicate themselves to releasing the best product possible as soon as possible.
The second point I am not so sure about – the PRT platform is just a product for sale or to licence and the more customers the better for PRT. If IG get a customer to use PRT then IG have to provide the front line point of contact for all those customers. Customer service is a costly and difficult part of any business so for PRT offering a product direct is more expensive for them than licensing it out to a huge broker. Unfortunately the downside is that they lose control of the customer service and so if it is poor then PRT may get blamed for it even though it has little or nothing to do with them.
PRT does not offer its trading account to outside EU it appears. If you are in EU or UK, i would think its not that different. It would be lot more easier to signup with PRT than beg with IG to provide an update. Interactive broker provides its service world wide but not sure if they offer PRT from outside of PRT website.
Looks like lots of PRT users are totally unhappy with IG taking such a long time. IG’s own forum has many asking, but there is no answer anywhere to be found.
For IG, not updating to new for PRT version for couple year cannot be ok because most PRT users want the new version. Not providing timely update is very poor service that will upset many. Infact it already has i think because IG has crossed its deadline of 2019 End for Version 11. Before signing up, i asked IG about version 11, they said by end of 2019 and then i signed up. Now the timeline is moving every month
hello is it possible to subscribe to prorealtime version 11 directly to prorealtime to test and back test on the dax in cfd and other markets in cfd or the data will be incorrect. thank you in advance.
@francois528 … Yes, plenty of folk on here do just as you as you are asking about … for example Nicolas this website owner has his PRT Platform directly with PRT.

CFD data is only available from your IG Premium version 10.3 account. If you use our platform in version 11.1 PRT Software, you will not have CFD data but official data.
Version 11.1 is coming out soon for CFD customers: IG has announced that it will be available by mid-March.

@francois528 Since ProOrder is only compatible with a CFD account, 99% of strategies have been developed for this kind of instrument. They certainly might be not compatible with Futures contracts, Spot forex market or real shares/stocks.

So Nicolas … you have been using version 11 (direct with PRT) for ages so do you trade Futures contracts, Spot forex market or real shares/stocks only with version 11 direct with PRT??
I’m using both CFD and real market accounts, if that is your question.
One would think (hope!?) that as CFD’s are based on an underlying instrument traded on an exchange that the mid price should be the same and variation should only be …
- a wider spread (at brokers whim)
- Varying minimum stop distance (at brokers whim)
- Periods of telephone trading only (if you can get an answer from broker)

As all the above are variable (by the broker) and unpredictable … I would think that the Systems, Indicators and Screeners on here give just as reliable / unreliable results (due to above challenges) on exchange data as they do on CFD / SB data??
Results from code on here may even be more reliable on exchange data … due to less variation in the challenges listed in previous post?
For example … I’ve been getting attached error message all day on a System that has worked fine on the DJI for weeks up until today. I can’t see a Regulated Exchange playing the same game with their customers??
I may be talking myself into an exchange linked account here?? 🙂
