    Wing’s Resistance Breacher strategy

    https://www.prorealcode.com/prorealtime-trading-strategies/wings-resistance-breacher-dax-30m/

was highlighted in the ‘One Year After’ thread as a strategy that has stood up to a year of forward testing. I am posting a question in a new thread rather than clutter up that thread.

I have had it on Demo Live for a few weeks now and it has performed quite well but I note that it closes positions at 2200. These closures show as closing at 22.00:01 on my results. I am on British Summer Time which is UTC + 1 and IG charges overnight fees if positions are held at 2200 UK time so I am guessing that I am being charged overnight fees for holding the bet for one second! It is difficult to tell as I have lots of strategies holding overnight and IG do not clearly identify which charges are on which strategies.

Quite often when strategies are posted on here with time based conditions there is no reference to the time zone used. So I guess my question is what time frame should this strategy be traded on?

    You can optimize the time.

I belive the creator is swedish, if im not wrong 🙂

It looks scary to run imo.

Sorry Jebus I did reply but Nicolas has been doing some site maintenance and posts have been lost. Not sure I can be bothered to write it all again!

Interestingly the UTC +1 backtest is a nicer equity curve than the UTC+2 backtest. Obviously overnight fees have to be deducted occasionally.

    Hi,

I’m a bit of a rookie when it comes to PRT coding so this might be a stupid question but I see that in the code there is a section

But since its for a 30m timeframe nothing will happen until 22:00?

Is there any advantage of setting the time to 21:53 instead of 22:00 in the code?

I noticed that too and the answer is – no it will just close at 220000 as 220000 is greater than 215300 and there is no 215400 candle or 215500 candle etc etc in a 30 minute timeframe!
