    Hello.
Given the occasion, I want to ask the old masters here. What kind of system do you use on indices and what kind of system do you use on forex? And what time units? D1? H1? I’ve programmed a lot of systems, and when I looked at them a few months later, I usually found them with a drawdown. What seems to work well for me are MTF systems. Trading signals in D1 or H1 and breakeven trailing in smaller time units. Optimized trailing every few weeks. What experiences do you have?

Hello … it is a question that can have many answers and all different ….. it depends on how you create the trading system. There are those who only use very short times such as a minute or less and every week try to reorganize the system according to the evolution of the market ….. I personally use time frames from two hours upwards and I never re-optimize to the limit I try to improve the ones that work well.

I myself have a single rebound system on EURUSD in the M15, which works consistently over 200000bars. Without trailing. My other systems are based on D1 or H4. Whereby I have to refine this using MTF and Breakeven Stop. All trend systems. I haven’t found anything else that works in the long term.

From my own experience, I’ve found it’s better to get an idea of what you want your bot to achieve,

eg. scalping bot snagging small profit in between the dips with low risk , overbought bot, top of the market waiting for market to dip, for me picturing the indicators and what you expect them to do helps to visualise where your position will be and what indicators might help to maximise your profit.

Just my own views but I’ve found it helps. 🙂

Good luck, with determination and patience you will succeed !
