Whats the downsides/risks?

I think it depends on how you trade?
If trading only one index or (forex) then i think 20 (30) in leverage its not a problem if you are profitable
on the other hand if you trade multiple strategies long and short at the same time (long dow and short ftse for example) it could be a problem
and i think IG will lower the min size if they want us losers to keep providing liquidity to the PROs
about “moving” to Austraila or Switzerland i think they will follow ESMA,FCA and change to the same regulation?
The best thing to use leverage optimal would be to take advantage of all sessions with for example a fast short term breakout strategy
first use asia session (asx,nikkei,china,uj?) then close before europe starts and then trade (dax,ftse, eu, gu?) then close before US session starts and then trade (dow,sp,ndx?)
I think it will boil down to either load the account with more money or run less strategies simultaneously. It would therefore very good if PRT could implement a variable one can retrieve to see the remaining liquidity on an account.
hmm anyone know what the true difference between regular vs pro account on IG is?

Has anybody else on here applied and can tell us what checks were carried out and how much hassle it all was?
I said yes to the following questions:
Do u have an investment portfolio of at least 500K€?
Do you have work-experience from finance?
Do you know wtf ur doing?
Then they asked: List your most relevant job and write how it has helped you.
They said i would get an answer within 24h so i dont think theres too much checking going on.. (also ive gotten like 5 mails “GO PRO NOW!!” from ig.com soooo… i think they want me to go pro?
The biggest risk of going pro, as far as i know, is that your account can go into minus, and you HAVE to pay if the account goes into say 100K drawdown below what your account actually had.
my systems are all trading very small so im not worried about going bust hehe
I tried but couldn’t provide proof of 500K euro investments. 🙁
I couldn’t prove it either.
It seems that we the down trodden not quite so well off masses are all doomed to be shoved onto more expensive accounts while the rich get richer easier with cheaper trading costs and less restrictions.
Maybe giving up work and the rat race many years ago at the age of 35 to become a boat bum wasn’t such a good idea. Oh well I’ll just open another cold beer and go and sit outside on deck in the sun and think about where it all went so horribly wrong….

My account is so low that i could probably run … maybe 2 strategies at the same time..
The plan is to use all leverage there is until the new rules come. 😉
