Just curios, how do you obtain such privilege? 🙂

Dow Jones, maybe it is not a privilege really, but some times a necessity. Let’s say that PRT is just a wonderful platform that can bring you money; the more you understand the platform and its surroundings, the more you can earn. And this is really not a joke. But, this also means that when I see something not working as should, I write or call Support. Hopefully not with nagging, but with serious issues. Or, matter which can seriously help US people. I think this latter is key. I most often not call for myself but on behalf of so many unknown users / people. If relevant at all, an example :

IIRC Jan 18, it was Martin Luther Kind Day in the US. So, while I have the platform running 24/7 (with sadly each 18 ours a forced stop), at the restart somewhere during early the day, I see a popup appearing that such and so Exchanges are closed. I “Complained” that this is not much useful when announcing this on the day itself for the first time, WHILE I might have exited positions the day before, knowing what all could happen (Trump era). By no means it disturbs me for real. But it could disturb you, especially when you would be a newbie.
And then I referred to IG emails who announce this 4 working days in advance … you will probably know them … Not so with PRT-IB, I am at.
In this same realm I have been all together many hours on the phone with Support, only for arranging for proper Futures Rollover messages (also popups). And each 3 months I indeed see them improving (and indeed without a single word from anyone that “I can look again and see whether it’s improved”).

There’s nothing to be pedantic about here, but in the end it firstly helps, and secondly I am having a great time at explaining how things could improve. And you know what ? at PRT they are eager for us “traders” experiences because at PRT development only 2 or 3 trade themselves. So they need this input. I provide that.

But let’s remember, I am at PRT-IB and I am formally entitled to “speak to hem”. Not so with IG, although I think this is now changing a little.

if there is no answer if report bugs will be fixed and keeping people in the dark, people will soon loss the will to report bug soon.

Above is how I have felt for over 3 years now!

Above is why I wanted a central record of what we submit … kinda like a united voice … isn’t that how revolutions start!?  🙂

@GraHal, did you manage to make those screen copies of all what’s not saved ? (at some stage you said you were going to do that). If so, please add a topic for it (and an entry in the Want & Bugs List of course).
If not, it is quite OK to ask me to do it (but maybe not today any more).

    #159098

at some stage you said you were going to do that

I can’t recall saying above, sorry.
You listed loads of areas and so you are more familiar with that bug, so best you do the screen shots.

More out of necessity, I seem to have learnt to live with bugs … put up and shut up! 🙁

But I will be adding my own pet gripes to the Wants & Bugs Log.

When I was new, I have same attitude as PeterSt, like to explain and get it reported. Sadly to say, this is my attitude now as well. I hope PeterSt you can do a better job. Thanks for the effort.

    Hello @investment_account! @GraHal,

Please tell me all the cool new things V11 can do to pacify me while I set up all my charts again!

to pacify me while I set up all my charts again!

    Yes it’s a real pain, I’ve had v11 for about 1 month now and I still can’t face setting up 6 lots of everything across 2 Accounts (2 x Demo + 1 x Live x 2 Accounts)!

Do you reall when you had a lot about weird stuff happening and I said to reduce the loads of Algos you hasd stored?  Well read on from the post linked below …

Thanks so much for all the advice @PetersSt,

This was me last Friday when I opened my 50″ chart template…
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41uWqck2YkI

…until I fortunately realised (when I was trying to modify a recent template version) that a setting on the Macbook Display had got altered (plugging in the LG tv sometimes also knocks out the soundcard speaker setting too) and so as soon as I took it off “retina display” and put it back to “LG tv” the charts all resized themselves perfectly on the LG 50″ monitor. Phew…

The major problem I have now is that once I make a chart “full screen” (50″) the indicators at the bottom of the chart all flash/reload constantly over and over again. They don’t do this if the chart is small and eg taking up 1/8th of the screen? Pls see 6 second video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mngzw3v0mrx3tnj/indicator%20prob.MOV

I never understand why “upgrades” always end up altering things that were perfectly fine and easy to use, features like file/save or chart indicators that never used to flash.

Sorry to hear, it is so frustrating. Normally hair loss should only occur when you’ve taken on too large a position and misjudged the volatility and/or liquidity!

    Cheers.

Right, cheers, that’s very interesting.  It also means hours deciding what to keep, re-test, backup or delete. Sorted chart sizing. It was a Macbook display setting that altered, normally you just plug in the 50″ LG and the Mac knows what’s connected, this time, after months of not using the 50″ the setting remained stuck on Retina Display hence wrong size charts…

What great new features have you uncovered with V11?

    #159520

Ps/  Cheers @PeterSt, I mis-spelt your username when I replied, my reply is on page 7.

Bard, if you drag on the label of those panels (see attachment) and you move them up (start with one only) into the Price panel,  does this flickering still happen to those you dragged up ?

    Anyway my estimate : yes, still happens. In that case this most probably indicates that your video card (baked in your Mac) is not capable (for the size of your monitor). Well … sort of;

We know that V11 is slower on the graphing (OK, says me) and it probably indicates that a wrong (canvas) layer now is used, that consuming 10000 times (this is a real figure) the cpu cycles opposed to what could be. This is a VERY long shot, but I program on these native layers myself (think OSD stuff, avoiding the OS interference with drawing). So the redrawing just does not go fast enough with the unnecessary layers in between (the rawest later and what PRT writes to). For the Price panel this is super. For all we draw additionally this is “worse”. Indicators lines are fine.

You could also try GraphOnPrice in a BackTest program (if you know how to do it). You then may see the same flickering exhibit for the Price panel …
May. But if it does, PRT should really consider something “wrong” there with V11. That is, if you (Bard) are sure that with V10.3 it was OK with the same monitor and such.

Never had a Comment Window open on a PRT chart before but I have accidentally opened one just now and can’t see anyway of closing it, whatever I do, the comment box either remains on the far left or below the chart. I just want to close it permanently?

    Cheers.

Click at the red arrowhead – see attached.

Thanks for the suggestions @PeterSt, I logged in just now and it’s all working fine. Maybe PRT saw my comment?

Anyway I’ve got to say having explored V11 for the last hour that PRT have done a great job, it is a lot better and we now have Sharpe Ratios and other performance measures plus we can optimise backtests by other criteria such as Drawdown %’s. They’ve also vastly improved the Pro Order Auto Trading window which makes it far easier monitoring your systems.

Here’s the link to V11’s features:

Only thing I still haven’t figured out is how to make the indicator names in charts go from black background to white (with black writing I assume) now that I’ve changed some of my individual charts to white backgrounds (via individual settings for each chart)? If anyone knows that’d be appreciated. Pls see image.
