I have written a simple program in ProOrder running on my IG Demo account. The program shows as rrunning and opens trades.
There is a part on the chart showing blue histograms of trades but nothing in the “trades open” section and does not take any margin
or record any profit and loss.

It is on the S&P index and the trades are minimumum size, 0.04. The software notes that the program should open trades but says
“insufficient capital”. It is a Demo account with over £9000 in it.

Any ideas on what is happening and why?

    Thank you.

ProBackTest cannot know the balance of your account.

What matters is the amount to write in the highlighted box (see pic X). That amount can be whatever you want, it is not related to your actual balance.

Currently, the Demo account uses the 100 ($ or €) contract. So you must make your account portfolio value 100 times larger (make it 900.000 and it will work again).

This is a temporary issue for IG since two weeks.
