Stopping autotrade but keep positions open?

I have a strategy that’s running. My settings are currently set to the default of closing any trades when the strategy is stopped but I want to stop this specific strategy and keep the trades open, is there a way of doing this? i.e. If i change the setting before stopping the strategy will it keep the strategy open? Or can I edit the open trade and then stop the strategy?

I’ve resolved this by editing my position on the IG platform: it keeps the trades open and stops the strategy.

Open the IG Platform, make a change to a limit or a stop value shown in the respective Open Position. Then as soon as you click on a blank space on the page (thereby accepting / confirming your change) the System / Algo will stop but the trade will remain open as a manual trade.

If this is critical, think about what you are doing re changing the value of a Stop or a Limit Price.

To be safe … try above procedure on Demo Account first.
