    1. Can I use Sellshort instead of Sell to close a long position?
    2. If I have 1 contract in long position, can I use Sellshort 2 contracts to close the long position and open a short position at the same time?
    3. How does Set Stop loss compare to those? This seems to me to be exactly same as Sell. What’s the difference?

Does anyone else use this method to close a long position? Is it common at all?

    Merci beaucoup!

I think this works (reversing a trade by this way). I had a strategy doing this. I’m not sure if this works for this new limited risk accounts though.

Maybe Sell command would result in less loss than Sellshort if there is a gap? Maybe IG would prioritize Sell over Shortsell?

How does Set Stop loss compare to those? Maybe this one has the highest priority in case there is a market meltdown?

I’m sorry if the questions are too basic. I’m new to Prorealtime.

    Thank you

    1. Yes you can, but it will open a new short position
    2. Same as (1)
    3. Exiting a long position with a stoploss is exactly the same as selling it, you give the money to the market
