Boahhh I’m so mega fed up with this saving bug of PRT. 2 days ago I programmed 3 indicators. Yesterday when I logged in they were simply gone without trace. I reprogrammed all of them and now I login and they are all gone AGAIN!!

Im really pissed off about it. And when I report it to PRT they never give an answer they either blame on my code or on my internet connection. I’m really close to leaving PRT and start using another platform.

CTRL+S during work and save while exiting and all my programs are always there.

I pressed CTRL-S so often I’m wondering when my keyboard will die. Honestly. I saved in all possible ways but again and again all is gone.

The only way that seems to work is really exiting the platform. Try this out Nicolas: You create a new file (strategy or indicator) at night and press ctrl-s and save it but leave the platform open so you will be exited by the usual timeout. If I do so the file is gone next day no matter how often i pressed ctrl-s.

I just had a little power outage and lost my work AGAIN. I could now narrow it down. The only saving that works for me is when i logout and select save. Pressing CTRL-S or similar has absolutely no effect.

If I edit a file press CTRL-S (it even says your platform is saved now) and then exit the platform without saving nothing was saved. Therefore I also lose overtime all work when I´m logout because of timeout.

So be smart, do not trust the save function. YOU MUST LOGOUT TO HAVE YOUR WORK SAVED!!!

Still no reply from PRT on this matter. As much as I like PRT, I must say their customer support is REALLY bad (I had stronger words in mind but well…)!

Same for me! Sucks bigtime!! As you want to do backtests and it takes a lot of time you dont want to close and save when you leave the computer for backtesting….

I regularly close PRT and immediately reopen it twice a day, early morning and late evening.

Also, as soon as I have coded many lines, even if not finished yet, I copy & paste them into a text editor (Notepad or Notepad++) to save them.

    I never experienced any loss.

I know of another couple of platform bugs to be aware of, the first one  is an annoyance the second one lost me some money until I noticed what caused it.

When you have multiple strategies open that run on different markets and you have run one of them, if that is the last window you clicked on and you switch and backtest the other strategy it will run against the current window’s market.  So e.g. the strategy will run against EURvUSD (the ‘current window’) even though your backtest shows e.g. Germany 30 5 minutes.

In a live trading account if you open a chart in e.g. a 5 minute timeframe and open a backtest that runs on that same market but in a 1 hour timeframe (for example) , now change the timeframe of the chart to be 1 hour to perform a becktest.  After you have completed all your testing and made any changes, when you press Automatic Trading the timeframe in the dropdown defaults to the timeframe when the chart was first opened, so in the example I used 5 minutes and not 1 hour as currently set.  Maybe not a bug as such (?) but seems counter intuitive and caught me out at least once.

I also have a couple of serious bugs I would like PRT to address! I have reported a couple of them on their site but with their slow deployment rate how would I know if they ever address these issues or when I would see these fixes?

Wha can we as a PRT community do to be heard?

@nicolas please provide some guidance here. As you might have noticed many of the senior users on this site have become increasingly frustrated with the platform.

I reported so many bugs to PRT that I lost count. Usually they don’t even bother to reply, they just ignore it. And if they reply it is always just to blame the bug on either my code or on my bad internet connection. I actually have never experienced a as lousy customer support as PRT’s. They simply seem to ignore their customers (or at least me).

Then I want to point out that I’m with PRT directly so I contact them and not IG markets. IG markets at least replied every time I tried to contact them so far.
