Range bars Vs Time Frame

  Please, see attached 2 charts for gold futures same time one is range bars 4 points per bar and the second is 5min chart. Can you imagine how easy to Auto trade (if available) the range bars compared to the 5min chart, this is so important for day traders. PRT has to provide Auto trading on range bars charts.

  I suggest that you send a message to PRT to urge a solution to that issue, despite I fear it won’t be that easy to enhance a system based only on time frames into a system which can handle both time-based charts and non time-based charts.

  First, I don’t think the issue is that complicated, otherwise it wouldn’t be available on basic and free platforms like MT4.
  Second, PRT won’t take action unless they see collective demands from many traders, and that’s what I’m trying to spread among them here on this forum.

  On the Range Bars chart … how have you managed to get all the bars grouped  / shown  as either  green or red … green even for bars in a (minor) downtrend and red bars even in uptrend.

  Attached shows Range bars colour settings together with result for colour of the bars.

  As you can see attached, I have created indicators to paint bars by MACD crossings or MACD line above 0 or bars above Super trend or bars above EMA60, also I have created indicators to draw arrows on the chart when any of these conditions are met.

  Please, see attached I use Alert trading as semi-Automatic to trade it, but you can do that only once and you have to reactivate the alert every time

  As you can see attached I have the same setup on MT4, with an indicator called Cap Channel and an EA which can pick up trades buy or sell when below or above the channel, I tried to get the source code for this channel to convert it to PRT, but unfortunately failed so far. Now you may ask a good question if you already have it on MT4 where you ca Auto trade it there, why you are after Auto trading it on PRT? the answer is with too much complicated charts like this MT4 freezes particularly when fast moves during news or at the open of the US session, while PRT streams very well all the time

  So, to achieve above, you use, as a basis, native PRT Indicators … so don’t these inherently work / are based on  on normal time periods?

  I think I’ve answered my own question … as you have no chart time period selected (Range bars on chart) then the modified MACD, SuperTrend and EMA60 can only be based on the periodicity / count of Range bars?

  If anybody knows different than above, please comment?
