PRT running on 2 PCs

  Hi, good morning.

  I wrote the same question in the italian forum but I’d like to widen the possibility to have an answer and so I post this question here too.

  In a recent meeting with IG Italy staff I asked for the possibility to run PRT on 2 different notebooks, in order to double the backtests.

  They told me that’s possible just running it with 2 different browser.

  So, now I tried to run it on a pc with Chrome and on another pc with Firefox.

  BUT we one PRT starts the other (on the other pc) is closed.

  Could someone please help me ?!

  This is the normal behavior. You can’t launch 2 times the same account at the same time, one will automatically close the other one currently running. If you want to run 2 platforms at the same time, you can use a demo account and your real one side by side.

  So it means they gave me a wrong answer, isn’t it?

  Well, I never tried the demo account with PRT but I understood it doesn’t have “live data” but only daily. Right?

  Then I know it should stop after 2 weeks of use. Right?

  Hello,

  Nicolas is right.

  You can use the platform (real or demo) on as many screens as you want, if these screens are connected to the same computer, but you can’t launch the same platform from two different computers simultaneously.

  However, you can launch the demo platform and the real platform at the same time.

  dear Maria,

  thanks.

  Just a couple of questions:

  • if I activate the PRT on demo account, should I have to pay 30 euro per months, because I don’t do any trade ?
  • I tried to open PRT on demo account on the other pc, but it doesn’t open

  Hello again,

  The cost of platform (demo or real) is 30€ per month if you don’t place any real trade. If you have an IG account with access to ProRealTime platform, you should be able to launch ProRealTime in demo via the demo account.

  You’ll be pleased to know that the (30€ per month for nil activity) cost of a Demo Account (with IG anyway) is taken out of Demo / Virtual money!
