Anybody else here having issues with PRT?
One of the problems is am having issues importing saved template.
Well that’s just 1 issue. I’ve logged so many other bugs with IG / PRT
Hi Andre, could you please give us the list of the issues you encountered. So that we could help you the most and maybe fix some of them thanks to your report.
Thanks in advance.
So many issues I’m experiencing.
The issues only started during and after the weekend.
I know PRT and what I experience I can see is clearly PRT bugs.
One main one is I will make new Templates. Save the layout/export it. Make another layout/template -save it and export it. But on the import most of the settings are lost and or the template give various error and can’t get imported. Even then trying to import older templates then also does not want to get imported due to various PRT error/excuses. Or the template gets imported but with with many of the settings missing.
Example: One of my Templates has the NASDAQ and NIKKEI in it. They layout is side by side and both with the same indicators etc. but when eventually get imported the NASDAQ lost all settings and NIKKEI complete. Or the template imports but comes back and shows hours timeframe. Or template imports but the chart does not show live prices. The charts does stand still- no price movement.
My internet connection is fine
Delete all Temp files – Restored PRT from backups. That did not help.
Restored 2 week old backup from the complete Drive-C to when PRT worked well.
None of whatever I tried helped.
Reported all the bugs to IG but all the replies are the run-of-the-mill replies. “Your case was reported to PRT and will reply in 10 days time”
I have a lot of experience on PRT and knows it as good software but lately I see more and more bugs. Small things.
You can test. Export/save one of your layouts.
Close everything – open up another template and import a different temple and see if you get the same error
Hi Andre,
Please make another report through the platform, describe in short terms the issue and copy/paste the url of this topic. We will have a look asap. Sorry for delay replying.
I have reported all that happened through PRT and also the bugs I found. Oh there are so many of them.
I went through some much effort the past 4 days.!
Yesterday I deleted all templates and charts etc. Cleaned out the whole system. Make new charts, templates, indicators etc from scratch.
Saved and exported all of them.
One of the main problems was I got an error when closing PRT. Example: I saved templates a min ago but on closing PRT the popup window read the workspace was saved hours ago. I saved the whole setup a min ago but on close PRT said it was last saved hours ago.
I then ran a basic network analyser that shows network traffic etc.
On closing PRT I saw an error regarding the network. That to me made sense to me.
Even though the templates was saved it did not write final file. Could not communicate/write to PRT network.
Ran Wireshark to log all network traffic.
While Wireshark ran – Opened PRT and made changes to the charts/templates etc. Saved & exported the templates.
Closed PRT Stopped Wireshark.
Wireshark’s logs shows errors with PRT network. I’m not saying PRT’s network is not good. But there is an network error/s.
These errors in Wireshark confirms the network errors with PRT network.
SERIOUS ISSUE / BUG:
Even when exported/saved the templates but when open PRT again and import a template the imported template layout would not be the same as the saved template.
I mean this is a file that’s exported and is stored locally and has nothing to do with network. The imported template/layout should be the same as the saved file. BUT IT’S NOT.
Hi Andre, a quick update: the ticket has been received by PRT on 18th March (sometimes it gets stuck at IG…). We’ll look into and analyze this situation soon. Sorry for the wait.
Thank you.
I logged so many cases the past week sure they must think this guy is crazy 🙂
The main issue and cause of all the problems at the end was the network communication. Nothing one can do on one’s side to fix that.
I just wonder the layouts/templates/workspace are stores on the user’s computer. Why then if there is a network issue does it prevent a user from saving templates etc? The network/internet is only there for data transfer relating to price/volume movements.
