ProOrder: Real vs Demo

  Hi All

  I’m running the same strategy on both Demo and Real IG account; at 10:48 of 16th  a short position was entered on real account and NOT on demo one(see picture).

  Code, stop loss and take profit are identical on both.

  May anyone explain this strange and irritating behavior of ProOrder?

  Pretty difficult to identify what happened without the code of the strategy. Did you look at your orders lists? (CTRL+O) = very useful and informative way to identify possible problem with the codes, the market behavior, the broker’s server, etc.

  What about spread difference?

  It will have been spread = 1 on DAX at 10:46 on 16 March (?) what spread are you running on Demo?

  The strategy code is taken from post #64371, the broker is IG  Market,  hereunder the screenshot of the order list.

  yes GraHal….on real spread=1 …..but I think sometimes could be more due to slippage

  So maybe the spread difference (1 to 2) is the cause of the difference Live to Demo (1 to 2)?

  On my Platform on DAX  …

  Spread = 1 from 08:00 to 16:30
  Spread = 2 from 16:30 to 21:00

  Yes on Live there may also be slippage on Stops and Limits (due to volatile price change) which is not taken account of on Demo.

  This morning I experienced the same strategy running on Eur/Usd h1 (demo) to open a SHORT position, while, at the same time, on Eur/Usd MINI h1 (real) to open a LONG position.

  Luckily the real one is profitable!

  Both were launched with the same values for parameters/variables, just in different days.
