    Good morning all

Quick question: does ProOrder allow placing orders for a number of contracts with decimals ? If yes, how ?

In more details: I’m trying to place orders (on IG through ProOrder) on a quantity of contracts that has decimals: e.g. 1.5 contracts or 1.75 contracts. Manually in IG, it works fine.

Through ProOrder, when I enter the code “Buy 1.5 contracts at market”, ProOrder buys only 1 contract at market (not 1.5). “Buy 1.75 contracts at market” also buys 1 contracts (not 1.75). It seems ProOrder is rounding down contract numbers to the closest integer.

Any way to solve this ?

    Many thanks,

    Hi Loeiz, it’s not possible.

Trade protocol between the platform and the broker are limiting the contracts amount to a round number. It can’t have decimal.

So you have to round it yourself to the closest amount round number you’d like to trade with the ROUND instruction.
