    Hi to all,

This is my first time to prorealtime and I am loving the package. I am just playing around with the free daily charts at the moment and have created a lot of my own indicators and scanners in real short order …. great package guys, and so easy on the eyes, your graphics designer knows his/her stuff 🙂

The way I would like to trade, is to initiate manual opening positions, but to program a trading system to automatically close the position on certain conditions, i.e say if the instrument closed above/below a moving average etc, is this possible? Most of the trading system examples do both buy/sell, I just want sell.

    Many Thanks

First thing that came to mind is to use the Alerts feature on the PRT Platform and you can then set up an automatic exit on a MA cross etc if the MA is showing on your Chart.

BUT … you need to leave your PC running else the Alert will delete, also will delete if you lose internet connection. Reason: the Alert is stored on your PC, daft idea I know!?

There is also a way via the IG Interface (if you are with IG?) but I can’t recall at the mo, maybe tomorrow.

PS You said … your graphics designer knows his/her stuff  … this PRC site is independent from the PRT (Platform provider) and is the brainchild of our Key Master Nicolas … most of us are grasshoppers by comparison! 🙂

Cool, thanks for the reply. Yep, sucks that the Alert is on my PC, really want it on the server. I am thinking of signing up with IG when I actually start my trading, currently with an Australian broker with too large spreads .. 😉

Let me know if you find out if the IG interface allows this …

    Cheers,

Hi bmentink, IG Interface allows for closing a position and also therefore close Bot down (easy to start again) on a predetermined price level so you can therefore intervene on a Bot strategy if, for example, you can see a Support,  Resistance, Fib Retrace point coming up and price may then go the wrong way.

There are various alerts that can be set on the IG Interface depending on Indicator values / cross points and then you can receive an alert when your condition is met. Then you can go on the IG App on your phone and close the position etc.

    See attached

    Hope that helps?

Just make a kode that buys when you start it and then sells when your sell conditions are met and then exits.
