Problem with mainbar in Version 12

Hello Everyone,
I have been tring to minimize the main Title bar in Version 12 without any luck. It only gets to about 6 inches short and stops there. In previous Version 11.1 the bar could be minimized to about an inch which was really helpful as I have limited amount of screen space. I asked tech support about it, I don’t think they understood me and told me to minimize my Font size. That is not an answer, I want the actual bar to be minimized in Version 12 to an inch or less like in the previous versions..
If you look at pictures below attached, first picture is that of Version 11.1 and you can see the bar ability to be minimized to an inch or so. Second picture is of Version 12 where that is the shortest/smallest the bar will go.
Anyone has any ideas how to to fix it in Version 12?
