I don’t use shortcuts, but use the mouse in the menu. This works always for me. I just didn’t do it before the new optimisation.
Anyway, there’s a limit on optimisations. But what if you have i.e. 4 optimisations at the same time, all below the limit but together above the limit. Could be a reason for a crash if that limit is exceeded?
@Paul why do you think the platform closed because of a crash? It closed itself after 12 hours automatically, so I think that’s what it happened for you.
File > Quit > Save and Exit – after every 3 backtest until the above hanging is no longer experienced.
Update:
For me it seems to start slowing / hanging after about 7 backtests, but I guess this depends on the number of combos of variables in the backtest.

I didn’t know that and I can’t excluded that scenario either because got no idea how long it had been open. It means it’s better to restart the platform before doing a long backtest.
The limit question I asked wasn’t the reason in my case. I just wonderd about it.

Is it 12 hours now? I thought it used to be 18?
ah yes sorry, it is 18 hours, not 12!
It seems that ProBacktest is slow only at IG. Therefore, is it possible to open a demo account for free, other than at IG, to perform our tests? (Elsewhere than directly at ProRealtime. The demo account is daily)
